  1. Nice picture David. Decides one thing for me. No way am I putting the center bumper guard back on my p15!
  2. If you can get the model code from the serial plate I can help you figure out how big it is. Anything prewar is pretty rare and so are the bigger trucks. The 41-42 dodges have the same looking front end as mine with the addition of stainless bars on the lower grill louvers. 39-40 ones have headlights down closer to the grill and different grills.
  3. 46-48 is for dodge and plymouth cars. The truck series before your pilot house ones went from 39-47 with very little being made 42-45. The 39s are T models 40s are V and 41-47 are W. Then a 1/2 ton is a C 3/4 and 1tons are Ds 1.5 tons Fs etc. So my 46 1/2 ton is a WC. As the trucks got bigger there are numbers after the second letter to denote wheel base and accesories like 2 speed rear axles. There are also plymouth pickups made 37-41. The one in the picture is a 41.
  4. Dennis is that 4 1 F stamped on a flat spot on the top of the diff housing? That's where the ratio is and that could possibly make that one a 4.1 ratio.
  5. What rear end ratio is in that? Someone was looking for a 3.90. Hate to see good parts get tossed out.
  6. Being only 27 I'm not sure I'll like being a senior member......
  7. Just hope you get the same elephant back at the end!
  8. That must explain the fender dent. You couldn't see behind you with that huge camper on there
  9. Fred any glass shop will carry that. I've also heard of guys using body seam sealer. I'm going to try it one of these days. I did glue one window in with silicone window sealer on the 48. Seems to be working so far.
  10. Reg you reminded me of a street rod idea I've had for quite some time now. Mating a p15 front clip with a pickup cab. One of these days I should do the measuring and see if it would actually work out.
  11. I miss the OT stuff too. I was probably the king of OT posts. Of course when I joined this group I didn't even have a p15 yet. Then there was all the stuff for the 55 dodge and most recently window trim. Which BTW I followed the advice here and my windows look great!
  12. Sure lots of people have put AC on a flathead. There are a few guys in the car section who have. I don't know of anyone who specifically added it to a truck but I think it would be easier. Trucks seem to have more room under the dash. The picture here is a 33 plymouth with AC and lots of other engine goodies.
  13. I think mine's ready mechanically. I've been on a few road trips with it without issue. Last one was 550 miles. Tulsa is 750 each way for me. I do plan to send a wiper motor in to be rebuilt over the winter and probably my radio too.
  14. Pete Don't worry if your car isn't 100% done. I'm sure mine won't be. I'll be happy if its all one color when June comes around! Mine is in storage until April so that doesn't leave much time.
  15. I've heard from many people you can't compare bumper plating to other pieces. Hood ornaments etc with all the little details in them require more attention. We've been using a shop in WI. I can get the # if needed.
  16. Too bad that car is 1/2 a country away. I've got a 51 that runs and drives but is really a parts car.
  17. I've done it both ways. They both work. Due to a little snafu with the engine rebuilder we had to pull the engine out of dads convert 172 miles after a total restoration. That was done with only the hood removed. He didn't want to risk the paint on the front clip or wreck the alignment.
  18. I tried to post with a subject only. No text or picture and it said 3 word minimum.
  19. These guys do. This is local for me but they do mail order stuff too. I was just in there on sat-had to rebuild the entire rear brake system on my dakota. Lines cylinders parking cables etc... Also found a new thing. PVF I think coated brake lines. Not sure on the initials but basically plastic coated. They can be cut and flared like reg steel lines but won't kink when you bend them. I figured I'd try them on the dakota. Time will tell but I doubt I'll be buying plain steel ones ever again. http://www.brakeplace.com/
  20. Wow just discovered you can't do no text posts in this new format. Anyway check my post over there for a cool picture!
  21. Ok so its not quite me or exactly my truck but its pretty close. A friend from the 39-47 group had it drawn.
  22. Glenn if you can get those plymouth letters off the hood cheap I'd be interested. I have an idea for them.......
  23. That looks like what the maker of that pilot house truck did too. The rear windows all look like the standard size.
  24. I agree-much improved over the last version. My only thought if it were mine would be to try and hide the orange part of the filter. The little one in your picture has a lip so all you see is the white filter element. That's just me though....
  25. Just curious where these are going to be? Some are in here and some in the specific OT area GTK created. Anyway I finally got some trim in my new house windows. Almost ready for winter.......
