  1. Have you looked at a power rack and pinion set up? This setup was taken from this forum. I do not know who posted it originally
  2. Winter has sucked all over the place. So glad I don't live on the east coast. Now the west coast is getting its share of winter....but then I am in Arizona for a couple of months....nice
  3. Like Neil says...copper, aluminum or fiber.
  4. When you talk about high compression engine of today dont forget to talk about the technology driving it.....our flatties are just down right crude compared to the new ones.
  5. Opinion.......two ratios were used....4:10 and 3:90....I have 3:90 with over drive. The combination works quite well around town (hilly ) and on the highway. Going to a higher speed ratio will bring out the lack of power in the flatty. You may be looking at clutch issues when starting on a hill. I am very happy with my combination and would leave it. Do you have Overdrive? There may be more opinions which I look forward to seeing
  6. Sorry about this........any fire is devastating...
  7. I ended up putting a plug on that shaft.....you are it should not be loose but after 70 years things happen....no more leaks
  8. That tool works on modern brake shoes....the one you are looking for will center the shoes to the axle and give you full contact of the shoe to the drum. You can adjust them without the proper tool but you have to have a good feel for what you are doing.
  9. Put REDs on my 41 and they are great. Sure can't beat the price. In-expensive, not cheap. Good quality welds. Only issue is the flange thickness is not the same as the intake. 3/8 vs 1/2. Just get creative with the washers. No leaks after 2 years.
  10. Welcome Hannu.......good to see lots of pics. Where in Finland were you?
  11. Trying to post pics of my install but no luck.......help
  12. After going thru all the engineering to put on a turbo and fuel injection, you would have something unique. However there is nothing as unique as a stock flathead rolling down the highway. Most of all they are dependable.......That being said, you would have countless hours of fun making it work and would be quite an attraction at car shows. Good luck which ever way you go.....
  13. Well i'm in British Columbia......the wet coast of Canada......
  14. I will be in California and Arizona this winter. Is there any suppliers for the window rubbers and window fuzzies down there?
  15. Do not forget, you probably have a 0 pressure cooling system. There is less flow to the heater. Not helped any by a 160 thermostat. Solution: drive in warm weather.....
  16. For the 41 I used Newport Engineering. Rotated the motor 90' on the bracket and cleared the radio...
  17. Under the check valve.......
  18. I dont know if was my crank or what. I wanted to use a neopreme seal but the crank had diagonal grooves on the surface area the seal was to ride on. I went with the rope seal...no problems to date
  19. I used a Cardon 13-1378......fits 1968 Mustang non-power disc/drum.....
  20. My 41 is the same way....did just what you did.....
  21. Well , took a look tonight....the 41 frame is much different. No where to put the bracket back there.....oh well.....still got some very useful information just the same. The issue I have is placing the Furd master cylinder between the clutch and brake pedals. Will have to move the M/C forward a couple of inches to get the required travel of the brake pedal. The banjo fittings will solve the tight bends for the lines.
  22. Don.....thank you so much for that link. There is a lot of information that will help me out. I am attempting to use the original pedals and location of the master cylinder. I will be looking closely at it tonight....
  23. Anyone have pictures of the conversion from the OEM master cylinder to a dual master cylinder?
  24. put my remains on the front seat and put both of us thru the shredder.........;(
  25. Plating is a labour intensive project......the more you put in the more you get out. Comes down to two things.....how perfect you want the job and how much can you afford.....
