  1. i just put a 12 volt windshield wiper motor on my 1948 plymouth special deluxe coupe. i bought it from speedway motors for a 46 to 48 ford passenger car. part # 913-56046 wiper kit for $124.99. all i had to do to fit was oblong the two mounting holes on the motor bracket. face the motor on the bracket to the drivers side and it has an adjustable swivel arm so that was easy to line up with my arms. my arms fit perfect on the swivel part. it comes with a switch so just needed a power line to hook it up. it has two speeds and a self park. the bad is that you cant use your stock radio. it hits the motor. but i am using an aftermarket radio so no problem. hope this info helps the guys who want to put a 12 volt wiper in their car.
  2. sure could use some advise on this before i break something i cant replace. thanks
  3. i have a 1948 ply special deluxe coupe. i am trying to remove the side windows in the back seat. the book i have said to remove the retainer wires and the clip will come off. mine doesnt have the wire. just a cap looking thing with a hole in the center. thought i coud pry it off with a screw driver but didnt want to break it. anyone know how these buttons come off so i can take the window runner off and get the glass out? thanks
  4. has anyone figured out what wiper motor will work on my 48 plymouth? I want to use one from a junk yard that is 12 volts. i have lots of room because i took out the radio. mounting is no problem, just want to know which one has the two post on the motor and goes one way and back the other instead of a single post and makes a 360 degree roration. was told an early model dodge pickup had this setup. any input would be helpfull. thanks, Terry
  5. i want to remove my vent windows in my 48 coupe and make the rollup window longer to fill the removed vent window. anybody done this yet? if so , how was it done and is there a kit available. thanks guys
  6. i wonder if these electric motors came off another brand of car from the factory and they happen to fit our plymouths? or are they custom made from scratch to fit? would be interesting to see if they were a factory unit that we could get from the wrecking yard.
  7. anyone remove the vent windows on a 48 ply. coupe? how do you remove them and make the door glass come all the way to the A pillar? What is needed for the front of the door glass? any help would be great.
