  1. I would love to attend, but past my bedtime. Gotta get up at 4:25am. If anyone records it I would appreciate a link to the Zoom recording. I remember following this as it appeared here on P15-D24.
  2. Worked like a charm. Took two minutes to make. Anyone else used one?
  3. Congratulations, what's the plan?
  4. Should it become aggressive, challenge it to a boxing match, Marquise de Queensbury rules. Watch his jab, but don't concern yourself with a roundabout.
  5. Keep posting. Enjoying your adventure.
  6. I can listen to almost any music. No rap though. Not music to me, reminds me of a car I once had, just before it threw a rod. Not a pleasing noise to me.
  7. Welcome, let folks know what you need and they will help if they can. Great site, enjoy.
  8. No radio in the '41. But the song that would get me in trouble back in the day when I had some fast cars is Springsteen's "Born to run" !
  9. New math? Where 50A is actually 50 x A = 200. Simply solve for A and it can be whatever you need it to be. Marketing genius or cheap stupidity? Your call.
  10. In my book having a "Don Coatney" flathead Mopar ranks right up there with having a Roush or Shelby if you are a Ford guy! Congratulations! I never met Don in person, but he left an impression in our conversations.
  11. I've never done this so just thinking out loud. Strength, yes very important. But don't forget about stability. Sitting on the original frame, the body is very stable on the track width and wheelbase. Moving the casters to an area beneath the main body creates a shorter wheelbase and possibly track width as well. Make sure, especially when rolling around that it isn't tipsy. Think engine stand, rolling around is fine but avoid quick stops and sharp turns.
  12. Same here. Until I opened this thread( top one) I couldn't open any others. Android phone using Chrome.
  13. Welcome
  14. Welcome
  15. Always been a car guy. I had a 340 Duster, a 340 Cuda, a 440 Road Runner, a Satellite, a turbo Daytona and probably at least 25 "normal" cars over the years. After my Mom died I was looking for something to keep Dad active. He was a car guy too. We decided to buy a 50 Ford pickup to "fix up". When that fell thru he told me about a 41 Dodge Cpe that was really bad, but he thought we could fix it up. I had no idea what I was going to look at. I was picturing more of a 32 Ford than what it actually is. The look on Dad's face as we looked at it sold me on it. This is a back yard garage build. The goal was to make it run, then make it stop, then make it presentable. We did that, I am proud of that. That was 30 years ago and I am still tinkering with it. Been driving it for 29 of those years. Took a year of solid commitment to get it roadworthy. I have enjoyed it, cursed it, threatened to sell it, rod it or crush it. But mostly I've cherished it for the memories it has given me. It isn't worth anything, it isn't a show car, it is a driver, a 20 footer and perfect. For me anyway. This is a great hobby, there is room for everyone, even hacks like me. Thanks for listening and Happy motoring!
  16. If money dictates do this or the crusher? What say ye then? For some of us, let it sit till you can do it right, is not an option. He does some pretty crude stuff, even by my obviously low standards, but he is doing it. I have seen lots of cars scrapped because someone thinks they are beyond repair due to the exorbitant cost of doing things to some critics standard. I appreciate the 2K dollar rebuild as much as the next guy, but I also respect the shade tree mechanic that goes for it and learns as he goes. My Dad could do more with nothing than I will ever be able to do with much better resources. I have a lot of happy motoring miles driving something that would still be rotting alongside a barn if I had to spend big money to restore it, not for everyone I am sure. Probably wouldn't be any fun if it was. I try to do what works for me, but I also try to appreciate the entire spectrum of this hobby. Happy motoring!
  17. I signed up to stay on the mailing list. Slim chance I can make it though.
  18. Real shade tree engineering there. We do what we can with what we have. Not for everyone, but I respect it a lot. A pro could nitpick that all day long, even I saw things I think could be done differently. Like I said, not for everyone, but two thumbs up from me!
  19. Happy New Year.
  20. Dave stepped up and helped me out with a connecting rod I needed. It even arrived gift wrapped in Christmas paper. Guys like Dave make this site what it is. Thanks again Dave!
  21. Merry Christmas everyone. I hope everyone stays healthy and happy in the new year!
  22. So true Plymouthy, if I hear how "pretty" it is once a day, I hear it ten times a day. All from folks who don't have to clear it.
