  1. I wired my truck two times, fire destroyed the first job, by trying to follow the schematics, took me forever. Then I put a 12 volt kit harness in my current Suburban that also took a lot of time. Now I have one more to do, a ‘53 coupe. This time a good friend will help and we will pull and replace the wires, one at a time. We will unwrap a section, rewire the rewrote, etc. and will crimp and solder each end as we go. Probably take us a day maybe two. Photos not my car. The black one may be a Dodge.
  2. Plymouthy, if that were done, it would just fill up again!
  3. Where are you located?
  4. I’m there, 81 in September so best to say some thankyous. (1) Names very difficult but Plymouthy Adams, Tim Estrada, Casper 50, Bob Riding quickly emerge. (2) Quick, unexpected passing of friends and relatives. Lost two, one with a six month illness, the other a 60 day illness. (3) personal note: my health seems to be good, only two pills per day, eye sight is fine, no apparent heart or lung problems. But do have a severe hearing loss, I.e., cannot hear without my hearing aid, and now struggling with leg strength (4) forum gratitude : when I started 12 years ago did not understand intake vs exhaust manifold, , the three essentials for an engine to run, the difference between an engine and a motor, negative/ positive ground, body vs chassis. This forum taught me mechanical skills, personal tolerance, better respect for alternate views, religion, politics, and profanity are toxic, the means and value of internet friendships. Few things have been as enjoyable, rewarding, mental expansion as what I have enjoyed this past decade. So then, my unreserved, heartfelt gratitude to each and all. I trust this post is premature, but better that than never. Paul Flaming aka pflaming
  5. I bought this fo very little at a junk collectors shop today. Will be a nice addition to my shop wall. It’s very heavily pitted so no real value.
  6. Like others, I’ve been following this post. My suggestion: unless you need the space and /or the money, I would garage that car and slowly clean it and get it to driver status, without spending much money. JMHO
  7. https://stockton.craigslist.org/cto/d/stockton-1950-plymouth-special-deluxe/6940550890.html this isn’t his, but looks quite nice.
  8. Mark Hammond of this forum not long ago had a cherry 50 Plymouth 4 door for sale. Should you buy it, I will drive it out. It is in that shape.
  9. our last day in Indianapolis I stumbled on a stair step and severely overextended my bad knee tendon, so it has been a VERY inactive time. In Thursday the 26th I’m meeting Mark Duggan at his garage. Wel will go from there to a car cruise, to dinner from there, then back to Bath. I am slowly clearing an RV site for next summer. I do a little each day, to protect my knee. will fly home August 1.
  10. Today we need some Buddy Hacketts!
  11. We lived in Millard, NE, west edge of Omaha and , note this, watched on a neighbors TV, because we didn’t have a color TV.
  12. After sundown all am stations had ri significantly reduce their power so we listened to a LARGE clear Chanel station out of Texas.el Paso if memory is accurate. .
  13. I just bought a running engine in California for $150. They are not hard to find,
  14. We are in Maine now! I’m preparing a home site so we can spend long summers here. Will hate to return to Central California and triple digit temperatures.
  15. Not that hard. I did my first overhaul never having done such before. It’s not hard to do and not that expensive. Don’t let someone mess with your mind, do it!
  16. In my opinion, I would neither sell no part out that car. If I wee close to you, I would want that car! My suggestions: change the oil,, if it is black , that is good pit a tbs of auto matic transmission in each cylinder, 24 hrs later hand rotate the engine, have a friend do an engine compression check, motor the engine and check the oil pressure, if the above is good, tune the engine, fix the brakes, Polish the exterior, fix the floors and drive it. That will take very little money.
  17. Update : July 15. Three weeks ago I slipped on a stair and hyperextended a ligament in my right knee. Saturday was the first day I could walk up and down stairs without using the hand rail, and then only one step at a time. So have pretty much been house bound. Hopefully that now will change. This is beautiful country, temps been in the high 70’s and mid 80’s. Unlike Fresno, the air is pure, great for my lungs. This weekend we may do a two day trip to the Moosehead region. Will up date accordingly. Photo: Kennebec River bank where we are preparing an RV summer vacation site. Due to my bad knee, now far behind schedule.

  20. Hey, it’s not a cock fight! We didn’t stay for the finale!
  21. Hey, it’s contagious!!
  22. It doesn’t look very good. But then beauty is in the eye of thr beholder!
  23. Yes. I took the photo today. It is a complete car. I stopped and took a semi close up look. It has a standard transmission. Give me a parts and I will take a closer look.
  24. Saw these while driving through the countryside. The car is cheese! .
  25. Two weeks ago I severely strained the minacious in my knee so been laid up, it’s getting to where I can now walk short distances, so can do some light work. With the use of grandkids, a tractor, and a winch, we will clear this lane to the river. Then rent a good tractor with a skip loader and rear blade and scrape, dig,, shape, drag, etc a solid all weather surface on that lane. Finally, clean and landscape the site for a nice summer RV.
