  1. I live 1800 miles due west, 48 Dodger country!
  2. Just read this thread, insomnia. I have rebuilt two 218’s. The first included inserts, new pistons, rings, valves etc. it was the first engine I ever built. I knew nothing, just asked questions as I went. These are not complicated engines to rebuild. The photo is my second build. There is very little as satisfying as hearing an engine you rebuilt startup and run!!
  3. Dodge guy, I’m in a serious down sizing program also. I have all the parts I need for my inventory of vehicles, so have setup an eBay packing station. All usable parts will go on EBay and my shop will get a thorough clean out. My goal is to get a nice truck, which I have, a nice 53 coupe which I have and a car for my wife, all else will be sold. My wrenching days are over, just too strenuous at my age, so time to relax and enjoy what I have. The last decade has been a very enjoyable, educational decade. Today through this hobby I know people Coast to Coast and border to border. Some even across the ponds. So giving up may just mean moving on. best to you. Paul
  4. These clippings were from newspaper packing of parts for a 1963 VW Beetle I bought 18 months ago. They will go into the build scrapbook. Note the world affairs headlines. Not much has changed.
  5. I constantly watch California Craigslist for 1946 - 1954 Plymouth cars. I search from 500 to 20,000. It is very rare to see a Plymouth for sale. When I do see one it’s usually a pre 49 model. Im not looking for one, just watching the inventory.
  6. Those two rear cab windows are interesting. Never seen that before.
  7. I took this photo in North Dakota four years ago. How many painters are on the tower?
  8. Are any forum members in or near the hurricane’s path?
  9. Two more photos. This was a western Nebraska tractor, so it had the air cleaner stack, and the two position front axle. It also has the water line from the radiator to the left piston for added power when pulling a long hill. I spent hundreds of hours hours on this tractor.
  10. That is a great bit of history. Five years ago we found or fathers 1934 model D bought it and restored it. I remember when Dad poured the concrete into these rims. Those are the names of the three brothers, proof it was Dad’s tractor.
  11. I was told to bleed the caliper with a lower bleeder valve next to last.
  12. Or put it on the lawn as yard art?
  13. My ‘53 Suburban arm rests have a thin metal backside plate. The arm rests are not attached directly to the door.
  14. Im of the opinion that no one wants to fix someone else’s dreams so consider this. Put it back to stock. Fix one or two things every day, anything, just do something more. Once back to a driving stock car. Drive it! Let people see it. Now look for a vintage trailer camp out, these folk move around, visit such and have the car nice and clean AND have photos of interesting places you’ve driven to, these photos prove dependability. Be patient, some vintage RV’R wants a dependable vintage tow car. Do this slowly, don’t get all tensed up, and be patient. The worst that will happen will be that you are having fun visiting interesting places in a vintage car. Not really a bad life. JMHO
  15. I just reviewed your post. What you fabricated for your shifter, etc,.was very helpful. Great workmanship.
  16. Her funeral may be one of the most memorable of recent history. I recall that so many flowers were thrown on the hearse that the windshield wipers could not keep up.
  17. So have a lot of others. Today determined my master cylinder is no good, so. . . . Hate to work with the tedious small brake lines.
  18. Sorry Young Ed, all are already spoken for!LOL The hippies beat you to them!,
  19. VW evidently had their own ships. I wonder what went on the return run? Maybe Wisconsin cheese! LOL
  20. Welcome to the “Murphy’s Law” club LOL
