  1. Nothing really Paul except for some casting numbers. They are both 218's
  2. Like this.
  3. Youbetcha. For gas, lodging and meals. I figure 2 weeks there and two back should do it.
  4. Here's one I'm gonna sell for $850. It comes with a NOS rear fender to replace the torn up one. The engine is stuck and it needs a total restoration. I have another P23 engine for it for $200. Ran when pulled. I'll tell your wife I gave it to you.
  5. Glendale, The photos don't work any more for me either. I just got off the phone with Bob Riding and I told him I was going to pass on the offer. He's out of town and away from his computer right now but he told me that Charlie Akers ( Olddaddy on the forum ) was next up because he PM'd Bob right after I called dibs on it. Please don't shoot the messenger . I think You're next in line right after Charlie though .
  6. It looks like Glendale is up. I was mostly interested because of the newer interior mentioned. The interior does look nice in the photos but I want to keep mine closer to the stock colors ( brown and tan). Thanks Bob for a great offer but I'd better pass. Man.....I can't believe I just said that. What is happening to me?
  7. Try Roberts motor parts. I hear they sell one but it's not an exact reproduction.
  8. You guys are funny ! Woodscavenger.......I had 5 around here up until a year or so ago. I had to turn the tide from buying to selling. Down to only 2 now. Tim..........Nuh Uh !.....oh wait, I may be in denial. Hey....have you kicked the bondo sniffing habit yet? The Don.........What can I say....I'veah beenah madeah....Now I'mah gonnah have to have Vito pay you a littleah visit. That was suppose to be an italian accent.
  9. Well.....I haven't heard from Bob yet. We'll see.
  10. I'm very interested and not too far away. I could come and get it this weekend. Reg
  11. I have a box of these NOS caps that list a 37-38 Dodge and Plymouth on the lid but they don't fit my 38 Dodge. The diameter of the radiator filler hole would have to be approx. 1 5/8" in diameter for this cap to work. The cap pictured on the left was just removed from my 38 Dodge radiator and it measures approx. 1 1/2". If for some reason your 38 Plym has the larger filler hole I could second day it to you for whatever that cost is. The cap would be free. All I ask is that you remember me in your will.
  12. Yeah, If he meant between the front fenders and the grill shell then mine had a thin sort of tape like material between the metal. I left it but also filled in with some body caulk before painting to keep the water out. Still looks good after 10 years. If Steele doesn't have that other piece I'm surprised. I reused mine as you can tell from the photo so never ordered them anywhere.
  13. Do you mean here ? If so Steele Rubber Products has them.
  14. I swapped out the stock 4.11 gears in my 49 Dodge with 3.54's. Made a big difference in the cruising speed. Found the ring and pinon on eBay. I also have a complete 3.0 Furd rearend in my 52 Dodge truck. Big difference over the 4.11's.
  15. Good work Greg ! I'm a fan of Studebakers and really like that body style with the smooth fenders and cab. Speaking of T bird rear ends. I have a 66 T bird rear end installed my 52 Dodge 1/2 ton. The stock drum brakes up front always stop better than the T bird's larger drum brakes on the rear. I wonder if a disc brake kit is available for this rear end?
  16. Just my opinion mind you but why not stay with the flathead 6 and soup it up like these gents did. This is Pete Anderson's 230 L6 with dual intake and exhaust, high compression head and a mild cam. Or Don Coatney,s souped up 251 DeSoto with dual in and out and a mild cam. Or like I did. A Chrysler 251 fit in my 52 1/2 ton with very little mods and has plenty of power compared to the original 218. As soon as I bolt this stuff on I'm gonna be the coolest guy in my neighborhood. Oh yeah.....I live way out in the sticks.
  17. From Donn Bunns book it looks like 29,994 of your model were produced.
  18. Here's my early 1949 with the rare split back window and the original oxidized maroon paint.
  19. I can't believe it. The Ford and GM dealers closed down nearly a year ago here in my little town but the Chrysler/Dodge dealership here isn't on the list. Yahoo !! As soon as I get some new houses to build I think I'll celebrate by trading in my 12 year old Dakota in on a nearly new 3/4 ton Dodge.
  20. WOW !!!!! According to this calculator the Chrysler six I installed in Ole Yeller is putting out 180 hp cause I had it up to 75 mph a few times on the way to Tim's BBQ. Once I install the factory truck dual intake and exhaust and take it up to 80 mph it should be puttin out 215 horses....according to the calculator.
  21. If you are asking if the oil seal was damaged because of the loose axle nut the answer is .......no,it wasn't damaged.
  22. Yes Carl, Tom Davis is working on sending me one in the next day or two. I guess the previous owner didn't know about the torque spec on Older Yeller.
  23. Fernando, If you back off the axle nut on your 1/2 ton this is what will happen. Ed is correct. That nut has to be very tight.
  24. My 52 4 speed knob has the pattern on the knob but it is very worn. Not sure that it's stock.
  25. Hey Tom, If you get the drum off save the key too. I'll need that. Reg
