  1. Dave, I have a few in boxes here too. Post a photo of yours and I'll see if I have one like it.
  2. LOL Robert. Stop, you're killin me ! That car would be to die for.
  3. Post pictures and we'll give it a shot.
  4. Yeah, according to Bunns/Brownells book "For the first time since 1933, the famous Dodge ram hood ornament was no longer a standard feature. It could be purchased, however,as an extra-cost option."
  5. Nice socks !
  6. That's too bad. Sorry to hear that. Were you able to meet up with Frank when you were out here Don?
  7. Young Ed, Isn't the wheel base of your 46 around 116" ? My 52 is 108". What's the distance from the fender at the runningboard to the back of your cab ? I think you have the room.
  8. Hey yeah. I put some 16" maroon rims on the truck when I first got it. I pilfered them off of another 50 truck I use to have. Here's what Ole Yeller use to look like with the maroon rims about 11 years ago before I repainted.
  9. Yes,the plate that is bolted vertically to the bed is one piese of steel with bends in it. This design would be even easier to fab. No need for a brake to bend the steel in. Excuse the crude drawing.
  10. Lee, No, those are what I call dick head hooks. They were made in the 40's and 50's and are almost hand forged looking. No 2 are exactly alike. Here's a closeup of the hook and the tire mounting bracket. I had another type of side mount bracket that was basically a 12" sq. plate,a section of 6" steel pipe and a smaller plate with 3 bolts to secure the tire to. Ed, I'm not too sure of the diameter of a 215/85R16 is but my tire size calculator says a 215/80R16 is 29.5" in diameter. My 15" tires are 30" dia. and they just fit on a low box. I would think you would have room on your W series too. You just have to raise it up till it clears the fender.
  11. That's cool ! Hey,if mounted it in place of your hood ornament with the suction end forward and turned on I'll bet you would go really fast!
  12. No, the mats are long gone. Make your paper pattern wrap around the seat bottom and go for it. Maybe even contact cement on some jute backing when done holding it back from the edges a little though so it doesn't show.
  13. I've used 30# roofing felt (tar paper) a couple of times. It's a little easier to work with than cardboard.
  14. I've always liked the look of side mounted spare tires so I installed one on Old Yeller this weekend. I stole it from Older Yeller. It was a tight fit with the low side box and the bigger tires. Only about 1/2" clearance between the cab and the rear fender after modifying the bracket a little so it could be mounted a little higher to clear the rear fender. Tires are 30x9.50LT M &S and are almost 30" in diameter. Now all I want to do wheel wise is repaint the rest of my rims black so I don't have to cover up the Dodge Truck Cream colored rims with the wheel covers. Dodge Truck Cream just doesn't look right with an Armour Yellow truck. AFTER.....I took Paul Flaming's suggestion of red rims. Just some "One Shot" on the outer part of the yellow rims.
  15. Yes, at the top of this thread are photos of two.
  16. Same problem here Jim on my corner windows. One of these days I'll order some new rubber from Steele.
  17. Don, 47Heaven wanted me to ask ...who is the bearded guy in the easter shirt ?
  18. Don, That explains why the rainbow didn't touch down on my property. I must have scared the tenant away from his little enterprise by reading my elect. meter every couple of days in plain view of him. The meter was recording ~ 68 kw's per day at the beginning of the month and has dropped way down to 22 per day now. Hope he can still pay the rent.
  19. Glad to hear that the tornados missed you and Don. Man...I had a close call yesterday when I stepped out my back door and almost got struck by this bolt of color.
  20. I wonder if spacers are available or could be made to seperate the two wheels enough to clear each other.
  21. Hey, you can buy that rear bumper at Sacramento Vintage Ford. It's a repro for 40's to 50's Fords. My brother just sold this 50 Ford F1 groundup restoration for 22K on ebay. I told him he should have taken it to B.J. after seeing the $40,000 Dodge sale.
  22. Yeah, the same advertisement on the sideboards. MoPar Parts and Accessories Plymouth . Dodge . DeSoto . Chrysler
  23. Where's the butt ugly truck Jim ?
  24. Welcome Jerry. Why are you so pigheaded ? Your truck would have left the factory with a 218. 230's weren't used in the trucks except for the 1 tons. Your truck looks pretty straight in the photos. I look forward to seeing your progress. Oh yeah.......Screw the judges....the 230 has more power. Where are you located ?
  25. Before the new owner takes the sellers suggestions. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270372060307&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AWNARL%3AUS%3A1123&viewitem=
