  1. It's amazing how fast time flies with a new baby in the house. I havent really done any real work on the truck for over a year! Man would it be nice to be out driving on these summer nights. Anyways that's enough OT. I decided to put the cab on a 94 dakota, despite warnings not too. I need to fab up some body mounts, to attach the cab to the frame. I saw that some guys have used 2x3 tubing welded to the top of the frame on an S10 chassis. I am not sure that is safe/strong enough. Do you guys have pics or links for example that I could use for ideas?
  2. I have to factor in a bit of a tunnel so I think that I will do the left and right as two pieces each and then the "tunnel" will be 3 pieces by itself. I have some of the original mounting points still intact so I think I'll try re-create them. If that doesn't work I'll rip it all out and try something else! Thanks for the input.
  3. I noticed that both of you said that the floor pans were done in 2 pieces, why is that? Is it just easier to make?
  4. Hi Guys, I have a quite a bit if rust in my floor. It looks like I will have to cut from the fire wall to just in front of the seat. I feel confidant that I can make the panels, but I am not sure what to do about reinforcing the body mounts. any ideas? found this site that shows how to put a nice bead in the floors without a bead roller but I think that it would need something more. http://allmetalshaping.com/showthread.php?t=473
  5. I have been thinking of something like that... I have a friend that moved into a new place and there is an older mercury box that has been made Into a trailer that is mine If I want. Not sure if I want a start "crossbreeding"
  6. Do you have a part number or a link? I am looking for some as well. I had been looking at these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-1803/ but not sure yet if that is the look I want.
  7. Same Truck, they are before and after shots of the swap. It was done by the previuos owner. I found these on another site and copied them. I think I have more somewhere.
  8. It was probably the guy who owned it before me, I think that he lived out that way.
  9. Not so pretty in these... I am not interested in something that I have to baby. and the flat black makes touch-ups a breeze getting closer to being on the road agian... Fighting with the EFI right now:mad:
  10. Thanks for the feed back, I guess there is no avoiding the mountain of wires I have to go through...
  11. I was able to get it off with 4 helpers... Mind you we were all over 6'2" It was tricky, but doable.
  12. I am in the process of putting my 49 on a 94 dakota and the dakota came with throttle body injection. I am wondering what would be needed to swap it to a carbureted set up. I will need a manifold, carb, Pressure Regulator for the fuel line. Can you guys think of anything else that I might be over looking? -James
  13. The feeling around here is amazing!
  14. Looks ok in the pics... but is it worth that much? http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/cto/1588277766.html
