  2. Thanks for the reminder Greg. I have been meaning to send in my payment via PayPal and just did so. Afterall.....it is the best forum on the net.
  3. Here's a better photo of me finishing up that shine you brought Don. I've never been quite the same since that straw started suckin up air from the bottom of the jar. Hey....glad the V.A. worked for your Blue Streak.
  4. judging from the size I would also have to guess it's for a fire extinguisher. Do you know any history on the truck. Who,what when, where. Maybe there's a clue there.
  5. I'm sure we've been over this before but has anyone used Roberts for the rear window rubber? $80 for the set sure fits in my budget better than $262.
  6. Thanks guys but .....OUCH....OUCH.....OUCH ! That's $262 just for the rear windows. My old rubber is looking better to me now.
  7. Does anyone have the Steele part number for the rear corner windows? Can't seem to find it in their catalog either.
  8. If you still have the old water pump reinstall it and see if the problem goes away.
  9. Oh yeah, I saw a photo of that here a couple of years ago. Is that how you did it Powerhouse?
  10. Can you explain how you cc'd the head ? I have several here I'd like to check.
  11. Square Stems ????? I had my stems replaced with brass two piece ones.
  12. Try Diamondback Tires for some tall 750 x 16 radials. I have their wide whites in that size on my 42 coupe with it's stock 16" rims. Nice and tall for less rpm's
  13. That would work for me too. This year I had to miss the annual downtown Grass Valley old car show with over 500 stock and rods on display.
  14. They do. Gee, I don't know. Maybe there will be one in the box.
  15. I got a referral to Delta Camshaft in Tacoma,WA. and their service was great. They got the cam from me on Monday and by yesterday it was on it's way back to me. Only in the $140 range with 6 worn lobes built back up + an RV grind. They are selling me new hydraulic lifters too for less than I can get at NAPA. Highly recommended ! http://deltacam.com/ Now....maybe I can get this beater back on the road.
  16. I discovered the same leak on my 52 last week. Just a loose connection at the VA.
  17. Shucks......I can't Don. It's leaking hazardous waste now.
  18. Hey thanks Tim....we like you a bunch too. Yeller eh ? All 3 yeller trucks had a little trouble? Hummmm. Yup...I hate those numb skulls that tail gate or squeeze in front of you. When I was a kid back in the 60's my step dad hated those kind of drivers too. So much so that he tried to get what he called "Stop Cards" approved by the Ca. DMV. They were a post card you could fill out and send in to DMV with the offenders license plate noted and a brief description of the offense. He thought that if one of the idiotic drivers had enough of these cards sent in ,DMV would suspend their driving privileges for a while. Wish we had them ! Greg, I guess I'd better rub down the rest of the tires with a little dot 4 so they'll match.
  19. I hear that Mike. I too always leave lots of room between me and the car in front of me but the other maniacks on the road have to fill in that space so they can get there 1/2 a second sooner. Sorta Indy 500 style.
  20. On the 105 mile 65 mph trip home from the 2nd annual BBQ at Tim's place I noticed my brake pedal seemed to get closer to the floor board than usual. I stopped and checked the master cylinder fluid level and it was pretty low so I topped it off and continued on. We made it home fine but this is what I found the next morning. As it turns out my procrastination paid off this time cause I almost installed new shoes I've had for about 6 months on the front before we left. They would have been soaked. I ordered some new front wheel cylinders from NAPA on Monday ($54 ea.) and they are in now. Time to get to work. Looks like a job for my steam cleaner too. What a mess !!!
  21. Love that color Jeff ! Did you find a nice steering wheel yet ? Can you post some photos of the painted cab ?
  22. I'll have a look down in my little bone yard. I have a 52 1/2 ton that was running on about 3 cylinders when I parked it. Can you post a photo of that AIR knob and cable for motivation ?
  23. You don't have to change the entire gauge cluster to install another TEMP gauge. I just changed mine out last week for one with a nicer face. Maybe you'll get lucky and your needle is just hung up in that extreme position.
  24. Does it look like this 49 Dodge club coupe ? Never heard of a sport coupe. Or does it look like the 49 Dodge business coupe ? Can you post a photo ?
  25. Darn GB......no spare temp knob to swap. Can you sell the AIR knob and cable anyway?
