  1. Was down to 9 degrees Monday night in southwest Missouri.....with up to 3 inches of snow. Back up to 41 in the late afternoon today (Tues). We are currently in Florida, about 30 miles north of Tampa....the temps today were in the 40s and lower 50s. Not exactly beach weather. Will be returning back to MO by Sat afternoon.
  2. Where are you located?
  3. Yes ... that's right. A fender off any other P15 body style will work on a ragtop
  4. Nice looking ride. These cars don't run very fast,,,,,,,about 55 or so. Radial tires will definitely improve their handling. The Borg Warner R10 overdrive trans will fit right into the drive train with no mods, Or a later model rear end will help.
  5. Looks like a good starting place. Keep us posted on progress,
  6. There were some nice cars for sale at the Zephyrhills swap meet & auction. Did not find a single thing for the P15. Did buy a few tools and auto related items. The big news was,,,,,,the meet is being moved to Lakeland next year by the producer, Carlisle Events. One person said it will be closer to an airport so bidders can fly in.
  7. Hi Welcome. The grille looks like a 49 model. A 1950 model has a lot of similarities, including the dash.
  8. Looking good so far.......
  9. I would guess some of your baffles are more like Corn flakes or maybe rice crispies, even though no snap, crackle or pop.
  10. Thanks Robin. I look forward to videos after the show and pics from the old car parade.
  11. While at the Zephyrhills swap meet today i ran onto two places that do chrome plating... One also says they straighten and buff Stainless. One place is in Tenn, the other in Wisc. Will post more detailed info on the Referrals page. Seems like there was Thread not long ago about possible Sources for chrome work.
  12. Oops...,should have said 3/4" wide. Tried to post a picture using this phone... It said file is too big.
  13. Went to the Zephyrhills swapmeet today. Didn't find any parts for a P15....except....some front fender trim clips. Approx 1 1/8" long by 1 3/4" wide. Stud approx 1/4" down from top. Looks right to me. Price was $3 each. Seller is actually a Chevy man...but has ended up with parts for other brands as well. Owner and sole operator is Mike Bryk....Belair Auto Parts....Silver Springs, FL. Phone is home 352-236-6386; cell 352-875-2344. Email: belairautoparts@earthlink.net. Says he also has a website where he lists his parts. Told him I would mention these clips on the forum as they ard sorta hard to find.
  14. Depending upon where the car is located, some forum members might volunteer to do an inspection with pictures. I have done one such inspection in the past as the vehicle was only 7 or 8 miles from me. There was no charge for that. Otherwise I do not personally know an inspection servicd.
  15. And...it's almost time for The Rhythm Riot, also produced by Robin. Who are the old time American stars this year??
  16. You can buy (last I knew) a new tumbler with pentastar style key at O'Reilly auto parts for 8 or 10 dollars. ... That will fit a P15 housing. The ignition key originally also fit the door locks. The trunk key was the oval head shape and only for trunk. Original style key blanks are often for sale on eBay. Don't know if the above helps anything...just adding as background information.
  17. I looked at the pics posted, Appears good in the areas I can see. Does it run good? You can get a little more power from the engine with "hot rod" heads, dual carb and dual pipes. One of two things will give it the ability to cruise at highway speeds -- either an R10 overdrive or a later model rear end transplant. For better handling, you can go with radial tires.....which now come in wide whitewall form. Mine.......
  18. Old trucks are neat. As I recall Campbell 66 Express was headquartered in Springfield, MO. The camel on the vehicles was "Snortin' Norton"........he was "humpin' to please". They even had a miniature semi powered by a Briggs & Stratton engine they would send to area towns to drive in parades.
  19. This one isn't very dark.....was taken back in 2006 one night on the parking lot of a local hotel when I went out to look at a group of old cars from Norway. They were on a tour of Route 66 and had earlier been to an area drive-in theater to see that new movie "Cars" Visited with two of the guys til about 1 a.m. while sipping a couple adult beverages. The lone MoPar in the group.........
  20. Can't recall ever seeing one here in MO.
  21. It kind of resembles a 1937 Diamond T........https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR4rS0tmPrIkclEakficYxj1vRVbZcXg0ceVW6Sh8TTp74UwHn5
  22. If you can't get into the trunk any other way...........you might have to use Christopher's method.
  23. Nuttin. It was just sitting there minding it's own bizness when the picture was taken. Probably bought the two items at a swap meet one time.
  24. Cooolll.
  25. Look on You Tube under lock picking .......... there are often tutorials on such things. I think what Ed was saying is.......if you can take the nuts off the studs that hold the handle/lock onto the lid........then you should be able to pull it straight out and the square shaft should come out of the latch. Then you should be able to turn that latch with a screw driver blade of appropriate width. Back side of a trunk latch...........
