  1. Should have plenty of time now after the last game. looks great
  2. My money is on the Pack. I was hoping the Vikings would have won and then we had home field advantage. And we all know the Vikings were easy to beat.
  3. That’s because your daily work truck is a Ford
  4. I thought about changing plug wires because if there’s even a mist outside the tractor will stop running. Good to know, thank you. i’ve had my dad‘s tractor at my shop for the last 33 years. When he was alive he had a muffler that really muffled the sound of it. I wanted to change the muffler so it had more of a deep sound like a John Deere should and he said not as long as I’m alive. When he died 10 years ago one of the first things I did was went to John Deere and got the proper muffler. Sounds awesome under power.
  5. I bought a new coil, points, condenser and gaskets. Rotor got back ordered. I installed everything and starts right up now. But, at halve throttle the rpms seem to go up and down. Could that be from the rotor, the old one doesn’t fit snug so Is that the variations??
  6. The site is incredible the way it is. Let’s not make it so you need moderators for the moderators!!!!
  7. The trick is, once you trap one do not let it back into the wild.
  8. Has this thread along with “let’s see a pic of your truck” thread turned into a GIGANTIC classified ad??
  9. I know very little of building an engine. But shouldn’t your engine builder have cleaned that carbon and debris out?
  10. Why do guys put tachs in street vehicles? I can understand race motors but I never understand tachs in several new trucks that I have purchased. I just listen to the engine and shift accordingly. I can’t say I’ve ever looked at a tach in any vehicle I’ve ever owned. No disrespect to Jim, it looks great sitting there, I’m just confused what the purpose is for.
  11. When I did my semi I took them bushings out that look like brass. They’re technically a different metal but I don’t remember what. I took them to an old German machinist and he measured them and handed them back to me. Went to get them week later and I tried to install them. They appeared to be a little to large in diameter and I could not slide them in. I called the old machinist and told him I can’t get them to slide in. He very bluntly said put them in a freezer for an hour and slide them in and there’s no need for you to call me back. They slid right in. He even made grooves around the outside for the grease to roll through. It amazed the heck out of me.
  12. You should have a semi tractor-trailer in your collection
  13. Merry Christmas to all.
  14. I bought some Powerball tickets for tonight.
  15. I see! Said the blind carpenter when he grabbed his hammer and saw.
  16. Just to verify. I only use 2 foot on center studs in garage framing when there would be wall girts and vertical steel. Other than that I always use 16 inches on center studs.
  17. I have been a building contractor for almost 34 years (only 16 to go). I would never go with a Pole barn, I have replaced several rotten posts over the years on buildings that are 20-30 years old. Especially now with the new treating process, it’s no where’s near as good as the old treating process. I also agree that a steel roof will leak. I’ve had several disagreements with other builders over the years on steel roofs and I can show you several pictures of roofs I have replaced because the screws don’t hold anymore. Steel expands and contracts with temperature change (A LOT) When this happens it pulls on the screws and lifts them loose. That being said, a standing seam metal roof is a good product but I don’t like the way the snow slides off and destroys decks, shrubs or anything in its way. My recommendation is to go with a 12” Grade beam thick edge slab, foam under the slab, foundation and perimeter. Also put a 6 mil poly under the slab. Then frame your walls 2x6, 2’ on center, then a good quality house wrap. Depending what the surrounding buildings look like I would either put 1x4 wall girts 30 inches on center, and then vertical steel with exposed fasteners. Or sheeting and siding. Put the roof trusses 2’ on center directly above the studs. Then 5/8” OSB roof sheeting, 2 rows ice & water shield then synthetic felt. Good quality shingle such as Certain Teed Landmark’s. Make sure you have a 24” overhang on the eaves and a minimum of 12” on the gable. Vent it properly and have it insulated. I prefer the Blown-In- Bib system. You can get an R- 23 out of 2 x 6 wall. I have built many sheds including my own shop this way and the only upgrade I would recommend if you could afford it is to go with 4’ frost walls instead of a thick edge slab along with in-floor heat. 18. Very nice ride. I never heard of a powerglide transmission until we bought our 67 Buick Skylark. It’s amazing how much power a two speed transmission can have.
  19. Thanks for sharing. He will be missed by all.
  20. Looking good. It seems like you get a lot of work done when both your football teams get smoked.
  21. After I turned it, it made a world of difference in the noise level and the fumes.
  22. It’s had to tell by the photo but the exhaust points towards operator when they’re in the basket. It’s very loud and the fumes head right towards the operator. Stupid design.
  23. JLG 460SJ model
  24. No, this has three bolts, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. It only fits one way properly. I turned it and it is only hung by two of the three bolts now.
