  1. spoiler alert...................EARTH has always been ground and will continue to be even if the polar ends wind up on the east west horizon..
  2. and you just answered your own question of not being able to use the other gear set for OD as they were not OD by design....a significant difference in the two arrangements...no under drive gearing in the stock 4 speed boxes..no flipping would gain that...
  3. I wanted to remove all the heavy current from the light duty ignition switch as I am adding more circuits and accessories to the car. I decided to install a "Power up Relay" off the accessory/run side and while I will not be using any 200 amps. total I did feel that 200 amp contacts would be nice buffer. Look close at the picture, is it just me or does anyone else think it is silly to sell a 200 amp relay and then only supply connectors rated at 50A for the install......do they even take a second to see what they have combined in their package....sometimes I think I just expect a bit more realism. But we are having fun if nothing else.
  4. I am sure my voice grates on many folks also, fact of life as they say....does not mean I do not like their work....
  5. majority of drag issues in motor are related to rear bushing wear...or if not wear, will relate to being dry of lubrication and will need attention and if not soon attended to will accelerate the wear and prove then needing replacement and lube...this applies also to points of mechanical beyond the motor in bushings on the linkage and the towers of the wiper stems....many Mopar wiper stalks have screws that you remove so lube may be applied....
  6. good instructional.....many folks do not have the patience and tools oft times to go this route....it is a shame...this outlines the process well and will keep one on track for the step by step process needed....I must admit however I watch these videos sans audio
  7. judging by the car, the tag on the car....road sign design, our neighboring countries are a bit more progressive than us....
  8. Sorry to hear you under the weather and experienced what you did. It is so important today to have back ups to your back up plan it seems. I normally keep food on hand at all times. Water to a degree and need to do better on this for emergency. Fuel to run the generator I have on hand and need it mainly for fridge and freezer and would not need it run 24-7. Heat I have three systems and two do not require any electrical assistance to fire or distribute. Hope all our members are getting through these snaps in the weather with as few difficulties as possible. Got a number of family members and friends without power in some of the northern region now.
  9. only thing that comes to mind is Lucy and Ricky when they tied their car to the bumper of Fred and Ethel on the uranium hunt....only way you could ever hear a beep beep from such a pathetic little car....I know supposed to be funny...my humor runs another direction....and usually at WARP speed
  10. I have a couple items supposed to ship out of Texas and the company let me know that they are experiencing backlog in shipping....I am not in a super hurry but appreciate them letting me know. Normally I get packages from them in 2-3 days turnaround. Everybody stay safe and warm...the sun was actually shinning here this morning..been a long time since seeing an actual sunrise...
  11. do your research...there is also a fast first and second combination...I know of only one person who has capitalized on this build also by adding OD to the combination.....
  12. my local grocer has never sold a frost bitten banana yet.....you folks can have that snow...I awoke to 26 degrees this morning....this is supposed to be the south.....they sure fixed global warning it seems....
  13. the source for these is drying up and the cost surrounding one if found makes them a bit out of the range for anything less than the strength you need in all out drag....for the street and most warmed over engines...the 8 1/4 will suffice.....they were the 8 3/4 replacement and have been around for many years and finding them is almost as common as shells on a beach thus the go-to today
  14. WAVE THAT BANNER ....LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL
  15. like the clips that kept the brake drums in place on the assembly line and were useless once the wheels were placed on the axles...
  16. sunrise...I though the government took the sun away...not seen it in I do not know how long.....figured they found the fix for global warming.... OK folks...this is a joke....!!! but not seeing the sun of late is not....
  17. it is a tree that fell in the forest and as no one knew of this tree....it therefore made no noise....
  18. our chow hall housed within our facility.....4 meals a day...every 6 hours....loved midnight chow.....
  19. YEAH, the little buggers will be wearing overcoats and hats....where I am at they carrying umbrellas and wearing galoshes
  20. my definition of mad cow disease is the fever I get if deprived of my steak.....
  21. personally, I like my supper, Pork Florentine.....
  22. the only way a 30 amp relay would boost the wiper is IF the wiring and connections it is replacing were suspect for voltage drops...
  23. anything but the trash on the radio today. and especially DJ's ...CD,I-Pod and thumb drives....only the music that is MUSIC to my ears...
  24. that depends greatly on the terrain you drive as to whether a rear end change would do what you need. Rear ratio change would affect all gearing forward and reverse. Whereas the OD would be the single gear reducing the rpm at speed and you have all the power and torque of the ratio built into the car as designed. There will be a sacrifice of power and slow to attain speed in the lower gears with a rear axle change. Hilly county and you could find yourself not liking the difference. But economically, a rear gear cost is much lower initial cost and will also give you modern braking components. You could be faced with driveshaft costs also that can elevate that initial cost and get you closer toward the cost of an OD.
