  1. Hey Joe, is this still the same transmission that went across the country in a Fedex truck about 9 years ago?
  2. I'd say that removable floor materials are a must to permit maintenance access, as stated. Also, for cleaning and moisture remediation. I painted my floor, then applied strips of Dynamat between the ribs. Then, laid down a foil-backed jute layer. I think I got this from quiet ride. On the top is a rubber mat I got online from Farm n' Fleet - bought bulk material and cut to fit. The rubber is chicom and not that great quality, but it's held up ok for about 10 years of regular use. I have driven the truck with and without the jute under the rubber mat, and the jute definitely makes a difference in sound. It takes the higher frequency road noise out of the cab. I think this is the same mat that @Merle Coggins used.... https://www.farmandfleet.com/products/516709-flexgard-48-x-72-x-1-4-multi-use-utility-mat-100-rubber.html
  3. You'll have to look closely to see what's prohibiting the linkage movement to close the throttle. Note the linkage rod between the cross shaft and carb #1, this may be hitting the manifold and you might have to grind out a small relief.
  4. Where are they made, if known?
  5. I like them light bar LED strips that some have below their tailgates. I don't think any come in a 6v version though.... Otherwise, red and white striped reflective tape strip across the back bumper...
  6. I got hoses at Roberts years ago.... still going strong.
  7. Nice lookin' 8-3/4" rear you got there!
  8. As long as you don't stand on the gas pedal, keep it under 35, and pull over every 20 minutes to let it cool down you should be fine...
  9. I don't know much about "Ferd" products and Ranger rears but was the 7.5 outfitted in trucks with both 4s and 6s? The NWC T5 that you have in there is on the "weak" side too, but still plenty strong for the 230 and it was originally mated to a 4 or 6 too.
  10. I wonder who Don voted for in the 2020 election? ?
  11. Ah that's right.... Cummins, Cat, got them mixed up....funk. I don't know much about tool and die making but have heard that they look down at machinists. Would a SS die be different than for carbon steel? One-step stamp or several for this part?
  12. How hard would it be to make a set of dies and press your own? Could you use a press on the weekend with permission at CAT?
  13. Knowing your luck, you probably got a two-pack and the other one is going on your "achievement wall"....
  14. South Illinois is on my list of places to explore. Looks more like the south and quite different than the northern part of the state....
  15. In Germany of all places.....
  16. Knowing the C body crowd, it would be a 'Trumptilla'...LOL
  17. Parts should be easy to come by for these Chevys.
  18. @Worden18 that Rambler is super cool, reminds me of a Willys Aero that a neighbor had years ago. Also sort of looks like a Trabant, the East German car. I like the patina (can I say that word?....haha) and it would also sure look good with a new coat of baby blue !!
  19. Bump. I secured plane fare yesterday, I'm going! See you there Ed!
  20. Once and done! At least in these cars you can see all four corners from the driver's seat.....
  21. Full size fun....nothing beats a C body!
