  1. A vacuum gauge will help when adjusting that screw .
  2. If you decide to bring your generator into a shop to be checked out , bring your regulator along to be tested too .
  3. 954302 is an exhaust valve for Plymouth 1942 through 1959 . Also for Dodge 1942 through 1958 .
  4. Amazon Books has 17 copies of " Automotive Trouble Shooting for WW2 Wheeled Vehicles Volume 1 " they start at $18.70 .
  5. Can you put the gas tank outside ? Perhaps under a tarp to keep it dry .
  6. Many years ago I spoke to an old guy that got a rude awakening at 3 in the morning . He was woke up by an explosion . The double door of his garage blew off and hit a home across the street . His garage walls were bowed outwards . windows were broken , etc . I asked him what might have caused the explosion and he said " It must have been the gas leak on the truck . "
  7. According to ' Car Talk ' , a truck tail gate in the closed position is more areodymatic (sp?) than a tail gate in the open position . Something about forming an air pocket .
  8. Another common mistake is getting the spark plug wires one terminal off . In other words all of your wires might need to be moved over by one position .
  9. Paul , What is the part number on the underside ?
  10. I'm betting that you are good to go .
  11. Your float might be set a little too high and as the heat from the motor soaks into the carb , the gas overflows down the center of the carb . Cheap and easy to adjust . Some of the guys set their floats a little lower than called for in the manual because of todays gasoline quality .
  12. I had my master cylinder sleeved in brass 8 years ago . It recently needed a new kit and that went in fine . It doesn't matter if you use brass or stainless , either one will out last you . But you will probably find more vendors who are using stainless . There wasn't anything wrong with my brass sleeve when I opened my master cylinder after 8 years .
  13. You guys are talking about full throttle on the farm equipment , running all day . To me that seems extreme , perhaps you are talking about GOVERNED full throttle .
  14. My local Home Depo sells corrugated plastic .
  15. Beautiful car . Perhaps the visors will be in the trunk , or under the seat .
  16. I just measured the welsh plug in my head located above the temperature gauge bulb . It measures 1 3/16 inch .
  17. It would be best to take the master cylinder apart . If you want to keep it , you can have it sleeved in brass or stainless ( if necessary ) . I had mine sleeved in brass and it recently started to leak ( after 8 years ) so I just put in a kit . I also wonder if the WD40 will do any damage to the rubber parts , oil will definitely do damage to the rubber . When you need to lubricate the parts for assembly use brake fluid .
  18. I have been running the 6 volt Optima for several years and wouldn't buy anything else . Also my battery is under the floor with a very small access hole in the floor so maintenance is more difficult . No cleaning battery terminals and no adding fluid on the Optima . Plus a lot of CCA . ( cold cranking amps )
  19. I noticed that my front turn signals were a little dim . Before opening them up , I decided to check my stash of new bulbs and compare brightness with a 6 volt battery . I tested G-E MAZDA 63 and a 63 from China , both were new bulbs . The American made bulbs are about twice as bright . Switched bulbs and problem solved .
  20. I hope to sell mine when it isn't feasible for me to drive it anymore . Cash is a lot easier to transfer to my heirs .
  21. Interesting . So you soaked them in vaseline AND armor All ? Mixed together ? Armor All first ?
  22. Be very careful with that thin tube to prevent breakage . Take a look at the seat inside of the gland nut , sometimes they rust away . You can try a thick sealing compound where the brass bulb seals with the gland nut , I like anti-seaze compound .
