  1. duct tape that thing together and keep it for a pattern. a Windsor or Royal? you need carpet my man. this is not a Plaza or Savoy
  2. If thats the original tank in that thing I cant imagine all the goblins floating around in there... dont find out the hard way like I did. the best $5 preventative maintanence youll ever spend
  3. theres a R10 OD on EBay starting at $1000 looks to be all there
  4. running at 60 mph and 3 grand rpm youre running the dog snot out of that little machine. No bueno, senior. just looking for longevity. get on that treadmill run your heartrate to 200 for an hour. thats not where I wanna be
  5. 1/8 cant be right!! Mikes carb reccomends float height at 5/32" 5/64? is that those really little lines? $10 for a retainer clip? Im in the wrong business
  6. thats a good point. Has anyone used a universal N228 1 barrel with good results?
  7. thats a D6H2. theres a lot of rust going on there. that nut on the intake flange doesnt look seated. when you replace those gas and vacuum lines, put an inline filter on. theres rebuild videos in the forum and on you tube. Lets see pictures of that biz coupe. get that thing running right before it catches on fire.
  8. did we get off topic here? thats ok cuz Im trying to catch me breath after looking at D24s 3 Strombergs(?) From my experience the accelerator pumps can be problematic. every fuel system needs a inline filter. Either get a rebuild kit with a ethanol friendly parts for your B&B or and dont run corn gas
  9. My 2 cents. NO CORN GAS No sea foam no nuttin
  10. something as simply as a condensor...been down that road
  11. wait a minute..Am I see double?
  12. Nice, Billy. Im glad you gave your GF a name. shes a sweetie for sure!
  13. My tire guy told me because of a radial design they are fat to begin (sidewall) so I would think if youre using a stock rim (made for bias tires) go with a narrower tire. I kept my bias tires on my stock rims. Modern wheels/rims will set you back. If you want to dig around the junkyard thats fine. Just my 2 cents
  14. I can see that I was refering to the engine ports on a 218
  15. Had some ss braided hoses made for oil filter can. Way too tight to fit up to inlet outlet ports and starter due to fitting sizes. I suppose you could add another 90 to get more room...but now your adding more resriction..theyre for sale
  16. I absolutley love it. What a great thread going back 8 yrs!. heres a pickup version courtesy a 12 pack and a sawzall. circa 1970
  17. late to the party here... but I had some ss braided oil filtrer hoses made to replace the hard plumbing for ezier access to disposable add on filterer as it turned out not enough room to fit up on stupid too close together ports on 218 block! turn this fitting one way? turn an elbow that way? that restrictles flow. its only an 1/8 line with 40# pressure staying with what I got for sale 1 8" hose and 1 12" hose
  18. If I were you slap the air filter on, (that noise might go away) some fresh plugs, and drive it. Compression is awesome. put some good gas in it
  19. If I remember right the 216s had a brass shim (no bearings on the oil dipper rod cap). so a beer can would have made a suitable hillbilly shim. I think they killed off the 216 in 51 or 52 for the 235 thriftmaster. but thats a great story
  20. got gas at the carb? dosent stay lit? now carb comes into question with clogged jets xcettera must have fuel filter somewhere in line before carb. crappy corn gas kills carb parts and sitting for a length of time everyones skill set it different. flex gas hose is pretty standard, ask your counter person Sniper?
  21. boy that woke up a few people in here. I always do engine tear downs with my Crescent wrench. flip flops ? hell yeah... at least get out the spray can and paint the damn thing
  22. when he hammered on the harmonic balancer..is when I lost it. he gets an A for effort and I dug it
  23. Sniper is losing his mind... But how can you not like this"Neck"? please get a pressure washer
