bump-bump..............another is thrown beneath the bus

good point.....lol One guy was real close reporting the register size....he missed it by 1mm which could well have been a typo...but even if a typo, still wrong. By the way, I measured 3 vehicles....to eliminate the fact mine could have been a fluke.

These are spacers needed for the aftermarket wheels I wish to run.....they are hub centric....HOWEVER they are not correct for the Dodge I own. Sources online call it one size and it way small, another is close but not correct and the forum, forget about it, they off also but at least they were aware the hub are way larger. Anyway I ordered these with the expressed intent to chuck into my lathe and open the registers hole to the size needed. Good to have this task behind me and the lathe and shop floor cleaned up. It was a mess after doing the turning. But, I had fun....!

quick search on the internet show this to a 40 Ford...the basic outline of the task is discussed and in my opinion more than ample to steer (pun intended) you forward on the project. I would suspect a R&P no more involved and way ahead of the game. perich brothers (and sister): how to mount 525 steering box with scrap!

being on a number of foreign car forums due to my collection of LBCs and other Euro cars...I have found a great many examples of 'terminology used in our country as used in their country quite confusing...we both can be talking about the same item but never know it....this is where pictures do speak a thousand words. Was asking just so we all could be on the same page. Don't scratch that knave plate, ok..!

your picture is showing a very popular style of remote servo/booster. Nothing at all related to the stock master and reservoir retrofit to this era vehicle currently being discussed. When fitted these are nice...when removed/bypassed the brakes are just as effective....you just have to exert a bit more leg pressure to the pedal....

not following your terminology as to depression pipe.....but...if you are referring to the line to the reservoir...then the use of the banjo such as one threaded for a line or bleeder to attach is used. YOU CAN also just cut the metal stub of a banjo fitted to an old and discarded brake flex hose and slip the hose to the reservoir over this and clamp. If you referring to the outlet of the master to the brake cylinders, this item is not disturbed in this mod.

I found the floor mount master and cap very close to the floor plate when mounted so what I did for mounting the remote fill before upgrading to the modern master was to drill and tap the original fill plug and use a BANJO fitting for the inlet to the master from the remote reservoir and the sharp right angle made for ease of plumbing. With copper sealing gasket on the banjo fitting any position is available. The original cap has to have the vent hole plugged when used is the main thing to keep in mind. Working with the front cap and stock outlets makes fitting the 90 degree bend or adapters right against the floor I would think. Very doable but still likely close I would think.

you sound like the work schedule my son had working for the railroad....long hours and good bit of driving involved....I am retired, I have time to tinker given nothing else is falling down around my ears at the moment. Been hard to get back into the swing of things since mid October but am working on it and we have a break in weather that is helping big time.

Saturday I ran the big 12K alignment lift up to clean the lift bay and get set for upcoming work. Discovered a leaking supply hose to the cylinder. Today I went to two different shops looking to get hoses made. First lets just say finding the specs was a bit like pulling teeth. First shop did not have the 90's so went to another shop who had all the fittings, higher rated pressure hose and came in 30.00 less. That is always good...! Quick fix once home....the lift is back in operation, and I tweaked the new cables for the first time since install 2/26/21. Now to finish a cup of coffee, get back to the cleaning. Hope everyone is making progress on their projects.

red rims I do like, they make a great fishing reef when submerged....

here you will get opinions based on replies from only a few that will take the time to actually read a white paper...skip the middle man and search out and read an informative white paper...it is a worthy read for certain.

define replace.....as in using modern gauges or remove and replace with rebuilt/NOS gauges?

hybrid sport on the horizon, combined auto and sail.....watertight chassis/bodies with outriggers and sails...sails down for solid surface, outriggers for faster cornering both surfaces...sail up for splish splashing about. we are not evolving....we are revolving....

the snow I posted was only half of what we got total...today we still have a significant amount on the ground but the roof, especially that what faces the sun, is mostly gone now.....the roads are clear and for dry pretty much now. Short lived, we did not bust mid 30's yesterday but today's heatwave of 41 has us all back in shorts and flip flops
