Dave72dt Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 The B3B is the primary project for me this year. It's been in my half of the garage for about 3 or 4 months now and some work has been done in that time period. As near as I can tell, it's been about 40 years since I first acquired it and started working on it. It's had work started and stopped several times as life has changed priorities but it's time for it to be focused on. Other projects around the house will still need to be fit in. I just completed the refinishing of a glider rocker last night. Deck needs replacing and wife has been talking about changing the interior decor. The Mach I is 98% complete and is put away for the winter and a couple of other automotive projects will likely get some time spent on them as well. 1 Quote
Sniper Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 Based on 2023 I don't see 2024 being a garden of roses. That said, I will most like relocate this year. Right now I am in the interview process for a new job, going to be a substantial raise, or no deal. Which also means I need to sell this house, move 20 years worth of stuff, fins another house, buy a new, to me, car, etc. Yay, not. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 2 Author Report Posted January 2 while my change of job and eventual moving was in truth a blessing in most all aspects, at the time I had to embrace this idea, I was not so convinced it would be. Once you accept the reality and get you head wrapped around it, all falls in place. Quote
cheesy Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 New Years Day was my first full day of retirement. No longer my circus, no longer my monkeys, no longer my problem. I usually do a Polar Bear motorcycle ride on the first and yesterday was no different. Though the promised sunshine and warmer temps never happened. 31F, my a$$. 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 2 Author Report Posted January 2 Makes me shiver just thinking about going out much less creating my own wind chill at speed.....been a long time since I took a motorcycle out on anything but nice clear day. My hat's off to you....enjoy your retirement.....approaching year 12 and loving it...! 1 Quote
cheesy Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 This is my third attempt at retirement. I think this one will stick after presenting facts to management that they didn't want to hear.? I may do an old guy part time job but only if it doesn't involve airports and hotel stays. As for cold weather riding, it's not bad with the right gear and heated grips. 1 1 Quote
oldodge41 Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 Congrats on retirement Cheesy! Just 2 years in for me, but it's a great gig. Life's thrown me some lemons, but at least I haven't had to go to work while converting them to lemonade. Happy New Year everyone. Quote

Not decided if this will be a Mopar kind of year or maybe a Porsche year.....got to decide my next build.... Well I can say it is a mopar year for me .....just which one? Pretty happy with the progress I made on my truck ..... although I wish it was further along then it is. ...... I did make my wife a promise that I would get the truck so far along, mainly welding because my welder can only reach so far and need the carport to use it. Well I got that far and even further with getting the truck painted. Well now it is time to move it to the side of the carport and work on her car. Some here know the story of me installing a used engine and it now has a spun rod bearing (I believe) It is time I start working on it. Cold dreary winter days it is tough for me to get motivated to go outside and work with my arthritis. But it is a good time to have the garage doors closed down with the heat on and work on her engine. ..... Slow as I am, will probably be 6 months before her car hits the road .... time will tell. So thats my plan ..... push the truck over to the back burner and start working on her car. ..... I figure I can still work on the truck when waiting for parts or if I just want to. 2 Quote
