Plymouthy Adams Posted July 18, 2020 Report Posted July 18, 2020 and had you caught a nice grouper you would have had to throw it back as you were fishing just for the halibut.. Quote
kencombs Posted July 18, 2020 Report Posted July 18, 2020 One of the best seafood meals I've ever eaten was Cajun blackened halibut in Anchorage. Supposedly fresh caught locally. I was there on business occasionally back in the 90s. Always enjoyed it as we schedule our meetings after tourist season had peaked. Quote
Los_Control Posted July 18, 2020 Report Posted July 18, 2020 Halibut is some good tasting fish ... I love fish. I cook fish every Friday, I could it it 2 or 3 times a week. But the adventure of going out and searching hunting then actually catching is the fun. The wife & I use to spend hours out bass fishing, during the week I would car pool with a co-worker, he would pick me up and we go to work and when we got back to my house, jump in my van and the boat was always connected, lived a 1/4 mile from a boat launch to the Columbia river. Crazy days indeed ... sometimes we just made it back off the river to make it to work the next morning. Today, all my fish comes from walmart ... sigh! Quote
casper50 Posted July 18, 2020 Author Report Posted July 18, 2020 Los only you can change that. lol 1 Quote
keithb7 Posted July 18, 2020 Report Posted July 18, 2020 Around here, a piece of halibut, frozen, 1 steak is a$22 USD per. Last time I looked at it and put it back down. So I figure there is a few thousand dollars worth there in your boat! Good job. Great eating. Battered and deep fried makes awesome fish & chips! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 18, 2020 Report Posted July 18, 2020 it would not be so expensive if we could train these guys to swing closer to your living area..DNR farts me off every time I come up with one of these good ideas....☹️ Quote
