Don't know if here is the right place to ask but how is user rank defined ? Why am I still a "junior member just joined the forum" although I joined in 2012. Others have only joined last year with less posts are ranked Advanced etc. How are the rank defined?

All post count means to me is the higher the number the more time you have on your hands.

Hi Chysler1941. I'm in the same boat. I asked about it and received an "I don't know" answer. You'll see a note I added to the left of this post.

Doesn't make sense. People with fewer posts have other ranks than junior-

we now have some data from long ago on our profiles that we no longer can change or have control over that I can find.....if you click on your profile and then click edit profile you should be able to change your rank even today....I just checked and verified this is true for my account...is your enable status update been checked to allow this feature?

When I click edit profile I get what I pasted. No text saying rank. And yes "enable status update" is on and green

Maybe something went wrong with all the updates over time

On the top right  the profile page, there is an "edit profile" ,click on that square and it should come up with the appropriate page...I just changed my rank from "Senior" to "Grasshopper"...? Oh, I forgot when you make the change, click "Save"

I see the square and clicking shows me profile, warning points etc. I see rank but can't edit

It's either number of posts or number of threads started. Just a simple counter.
