Young Ed Posted January 3, 2019 Report Posted January 3, 2019 the headlights look like chevy or GMC the way they are molded into the fender. Quote
casper50 Posted January 3, 2019 Author Report Posted January 3, 2019 I've never seen a grille like that on a Chevy. Quote
kencombs Posted January 3, 2019 Report Posted January 3, 2019 Hood looks too long for Chev, not a Dodge or Ford. IHC?? Quote
casper50 Posted January 3, 2019 Author Report Posted January 3, 2019 That long hood reminds me of a Hudson pickup. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 3, 2019 Report Posted January 3, 2019 I would guess a Ford derivative with the down under touch in styling cues especially the truck bed...has them what I think are Richardson (?) rounded corners and lower finishers... Quote
greg g Posted January 3, 2019 Report Posted January 3, 2019 (edited) Since this was true south Pacific and Australian air force maybe it's a Holden. Pontiac based front sheet metal perhaps. Edited January 3, 2019 by greg g Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted January 6, 2019 Report Posted January 6, 2019 Its a General Motors product, '41 or early '42, those are the only pre-war years with the headlight buckets in the fenders. The whole two part grill is missing, so can't tell if its Chevrolet or GMC. I'm thinking the North American truck, of course. With that "fancy" box on the back that is not a U.S. product that I can find, I'm guessing Greg is on point with it being an Australian GM product, but I don't know if Holden was around back then, or even built trucks. Could be a cab-on-frame sent overseas that a local company built the box for. Quote
