busycoupe Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 It is in the mid fifties in central Massachusetts today. Before lunch I opened the garage doors, checked the oil and tire pressure on the coupe; then woke it up from it’s 3 month hibernation and took a short ride. It felt great! It is the first time I have had the he coupe on the road since Nov. 26. Normally I would not take it out until the end of March, but the weather was too tempting. .. Come on spring! 2 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 if everything in full bloom and AC automatically coming on in the house and turning it on while driving the car......then we been in spring for a bit now...albeit the last two days it has cooled a tad. Dogwood is right now starting to flower Quote
dpollo Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Had my 50 Plymouth out today , light rain but not enough to need the wipers. 100 miles now on a newly rebuilt and balanced 230..... Life can be grand ! 1 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Drove my car to work this morning; it was awesome 2 1 Quote

Flatheadgasser Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 It's snowing here so the whole place is at a standstill as some of the British cant drive on 2" of snow Quote

Rosco Posted March 2, 2018 Report Posted March 2, 2018 (edited) We just had a couple of nice days here in Ontario, Canada. It was tempting to take the Plymouth out for a quick spin, but I resisted. Just as well because apparently we're about to get some rain and 30 cm. of snow tonight. Guess I'll have to wait til the end of March or beginning of April as usual. (Heavy sigh!). pflaming Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 Our orchards are in full bloom. Thousands of acres of white and pink. I drive Year around, nice. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 that truck would be bullet ridden trespassing in an orchard in these parts......lol Quote
pflaming Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 I just backed in from the road about 20', followed his tractor tracks. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 does it really matter? trespass is trespass.....key sentence in your reply HIS tractor marks....it's like this your honor.....bang goes the gavel...guilty....!!! Quote
pflaming Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 Orchard in question belongs to a close personal friend, yet you are correct, better to stay out. Quote
busycoupe Posted March 7, 2018 Author Report Posted March 7, 2018 I started this topic last Wednesday when it was warm and sunny .. today we have this! According to the forecast another foot-plus is on the way. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 7, 2018 Report Posted March 7, 2018 did you say bigfoot coming your way? you can keep the white stuff for yourself.....I am in no way envious....lol Quote
pflaming Posted March 8, 2018 Report Posted March 8, 2018 After 40 years of California political snow jobs, I rather miss the real stuff. Pic is of flowers blooming in our back yard. Quote
palmersparts Posted March 9, 2018 Report Posted March 9, 2018 Got over 8 more inches of the white crap... Very tired of it... Pflaming send some warm weather my way please Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 9, 2018 Report Posted March 9, 2018 my Bradford pears in the front yard were in full bloom, we got a bit of wind and rain...now my front yard looks like I have a dusting of snow that won't just melt away. Running the mower with the mulching blades did a bit of good. Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted March 9, 2018 Report Posted March 9, 2018 We've got a hint of spring up here, too. After 18" of snow yesterday (same nor'easter busycoupe referenced Wednesday - "Quinn", I'm mildly surprised there were no mighty Quinn the Eskimo analogies flying about) it's breaking 40 today, with more snow tonight into the weekend. Typical March in northern Maine, the crocus and daffodils aren't even brave enough to start venturing out yet... Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 9, 2018 Report Posted March 9, 2018 our daffodils have long bloomed, not even a trace of their blossoms to tell the tale. Dogwood is now in full bloom...time to go fishing if you are the sportsman's type....after seasonal blooming last year I dug two bushel baskets of daffodil bulbs from the yard and donated them to friends and family and the local school ag program for fund raising...am sure there are still a peck or so in the barn yet. These were the double blossom variety. I am more of an iris fan and am sure there are at least over 200 in bloom at this minute..;. Quote
MackTheFinger Posted March 10, 2018 Report Posted March 10, 2018 Daffodils are blooming but it's not really spring here until at least 3 idiots stop and try to buy some of my junk... Either that or I see a shirtless redneck driving a pickup drinking a beer... 1 Quote
lonejacklarry Posted March 12, 2018 Report Posted March 12, 2018 I have yet to see a tank top on a female this year. I think that is a better indicator of spring than robins coming around. 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 12, 2018 Report Posted March 12, 2018 and what is it if ROBIN is wearing the tank top......??????????? no tank top but a few were out and about in fairly short shorts at the event this weekend. Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted March 12, 2018 Report Posted March 12, 2018 We don't see tank tops or shorty-shorts around here until mid to late June, if then. Heralds of spring here are mud (we get that weird jell-o ground, too) and bugs...the latter being the principal reason for the first statement. A couple years ago we had a thread wherein everyone posted a first day of spring photo from their area. That's just next week, we oughta do that again. I will, anyway... Quote
