Worden18 Posted October 16, 2020 Author Report Posted October 16, 2020 10-15: Capped off the evening with a short cruise; just me and my daughter. Here we're mailing a bill since I forgot to leave it for the carrier. Quote
Worden18 Posted October 17, 2020 Author Report Posted October 17, 2020 10-16: My son and I gassed up and took a cruise to visit my brother. It was a chilly 32 degrees, so heater on. Thermostat only halfway though, and fan on low. The Meadowbrook ran great at 55mph. I could have driven all night! Maybe tomorrow ? 3 Quote
pflaming Posted October 17, 2020 Report Posted October 17, 2020 You are a great example for classic car use. I enjoy your no nonsense, humble, posting with the car and often with your family. TKS. 5 Quote
Tim Larson Posted October 19, 2020 Report Posted October 19, 2020 I'm really glad that you're able to enjoy the car with your family again! 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 25, 2020 Author Report Posted October 25, 2020 10-24: Tonite me and my oldest daughter went out for a 2 hour night cruise on some back roads. It was chilly and spooky. We had great warmth with the heater on low. It was a fantastic ride and gave us some good dad/daughter time. The Meadowbrook ran really nice and gave us that lulled feeling for the whole trip. We capped it off with a stop at DQ for sundaes. The employee at the drive thru asked about the car and really liked it. What a great evening. Sorry I didn't snap any pics this time. 3 Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted October 25, 2020 Report Posted October 25, 2020 Phooey, all the ice cream shops ("dairy bars"...no DQs, I miss those) around here have already closed for the winter. Quote
Worden18 Posted October 28, 2020 Author Report Posted October 28, 2020 10-28: Been driving the Meadowbrook to work every day. Monday and Tuesday were snowy and icy. The roads were patchy and really bad in spots. I'm a firm believer in Fluid Drive on bad roads. I've tested it in the past. Who needs traction control? 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 28, 2020 Author Report Posted October 28, 2020 10-28: Most if the snow melted. After work I stopped to get gas and had a 15 minute conversation with a guy who liked the Meadowbrook. He said he has a 1950 1/2 ton Dodge truck that runs but is missing the driveshaft. It was fun chatting with him. This building is owned by a friend of mine. His '27 Model T is in there. Parked next to the building is my loader... I was checking up on it. 2 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 28, 2020 Author Report Posted October 28, 2020 Different angle at Sugarloaf Antiques. This building used to be a brewery a long time ago. Also, stopped at Hwy 61 liquor for some "This ain't your father's root beer." It hit the spot I must say ? 2 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 31, 2020 Author Report Posted October 31, 2020 10-30: After work I fired up the Meadowbrook and made a quick stop at the bank. When I left there, I was driving with the window down because it was so beautiful and some dude on the far side of the street (double lane downtown) hollered at me and said: "Nice car! I took a picture and I'm gonna put it on Facebook! It's gotta be a one of a kind!" I waved and honked the horn. I love it when people appreciate the car. As I kept going, I thought about the original owner (Ray Sebo) driving on these very streets back in the 50s. 70 years later the car still roams these streets. Pic 2: at home to pick up kids. 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 31, 2020 Author Report Posted October 31, 2020 10-30: On our way to Domino's for a pizza, we stopped at Kwik Trip for Cokes. Quote
Worden18 Posted October 31, 2020 Author Report Posted October 31, 2020 10-30: The kids wanted in on a picture. Snapping all these pics reminded me of how grateful I am for digital photos. No money spent on developing the film from the 'ol kodak ? 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 31, 2020 Author Report Posted October 31, 2020 10-30: At Hwy 61 Liquor again for some spiced rum (black cherry). My gosh the rum and coke hit me hard later on....cranked some tunes after pizza and cheese bread with the fam. The shadow in the middle is not a dome on top of a building, it's my head and shoulders. ? 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 31, 2020 Author Report Posted October 31, 2020 10-30: On our way home we had to snap a pic of this Halloween lawn. So many inflatables! You might have to enlarge it to get a good view. Windows down, heater on low.... Quote
Tim Larson Posted October 31, 2020 Report Posted October 31, 2020 (edited) You’re fortunate you didn’t get the foot and a half of snow last week that we did... it still hasn’t completely melted ? Edited October 31, 2020 by tjlarson88 Quote
RobertKB Posted October 31, 2020 Report Posted October 31, 2020 Gotta love your pictures of the car. Even better is the great time you are having with your kids. You will never forget the good times and I guarantee your kids won’t either!!? 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted November 1, 2020 Author Report Posted November 1, 2020 Halloween 2020: I took the Meadowbrook out for a pre-trick-or-treat spin in my costume. Got a few looks at traffic lights ?? Quote
Worden18 Posted November 1, 2020 Author Report Posted November 1, 2020 Halloween: The Meadowbrook stayed parked at the curb after that to guard the house from the ghosts and goblins ? Figured you all would like these pics. Happy Halloween everybody! Quote

Worden18 Posted November 2, 2020 Author Report Posted November 2, 2020 11-1: A view of the Meadowbrook from the upstairs of our house. Later on, to the church for my daughter's religion class. After that we snuck in a Kwik Trip run for snacks. Heat on high... 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted November 3, 2020 Author Report Posted November 3, 2020 11-2: Drove the Meadowbrook to work this morning as usual. After work I spent a little time in the parking lot talking to my boss. A woman and her dog approached us (she was about 80 if I had to guess) and she asked: "Who's beautiful Chevy is that there?" I laughed and said, "it's mine but its not a Chevy, it's a Dodge." She said she liked it a lot. I told her it would be there every day if she was walking by (I've seen her before when we have the big shop door open). Later, daughter and I stopped at Fleet Farm for dog food and some other things. Then we cruised around for about 20 minutes. That's the moon above the FF sign. 2 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted November 4, 2020 Author Report Posted November 4, 2020 (edited) 11-3: Ate lunch in my car as I have for the past couple of weeks. The sun was so warm shining into the front seat that I moved to the back seat. ? Later on my son and I went to the church. Then a rogue snack at Kwik Trip. I had decaf coffee. We cruised around for about 1/2 an hour. Windows down, fresh air vent open. I utilized fluid drive quite a bit downtown. Was too lazy to push in the clutch. My son and I like to watch the "leaf races" as we drive. The leaves go shooting across the street, sometimes underneath the car. I like the sounds of that. I parked in the alley for a while so I'd have more room to work on my 48 B1D. Edited November 4, 2020 by Worden18 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted November 5, 2020 Author Report Posted November 5, 2020 11-4: Having lunch in the back seat today. Driver's side doors open, passenger windows down, slight breeze passing through. I wish I could've taken an afternoon nap ? 3 Quote
Worden18 Posted November 7, 2020 Author Report Posted November 7, 2020 11-6: Warming up before work. Cool this morning, but didn't need the heat. Over 70F today! The record high for the whole state of MN (for the month of Nov.) was 84F right here in Winona on Nov. 1, 1950. I wonder if Ray Sebo (my car's original owner) bought the Meadowbrook that day?! 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted November 7, 2020 Author Report Posted November 7, 2020 11-6: On the way to work I got stuck behind a train....for an HOUR. Yes, a whole hour! It was maddening. ? 1 Quote
