waveraider_2000 Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 Hi! Does anyone know what the real or correct name of the special nuts on the outermost studs on the intake manifold? If the few vendors that have them and charge an arm and leg for them have them, where do they get them? Chrysler didn't make them so where did they get them. They have to be used on something else. Anyone have any information???? Quote
Don Coatney Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 Is this the hardware you are talking about? Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 snarf Don...to scrounge about and roust from various sources...verb, to take, grab Quote
DJ194950 Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 Don, did you use scarf as a noun or a verb, as in scrarfing down? Seems to make a large difference upon the meaning of the word. DJ Quote
Niel Hoback Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 To scarf; verb, knocking the impurity scale off steel slabs before hot rolling to size. Quote

DJ194950 Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 Scarfing up not down Seems that scarfing up and down have very different meanings! LOL. DJ Quote

Dodgeb4ya Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 Collector Auto Supply makes me scarf Quote
JD luxury liner Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 OK/ are these only on exhaust studs or on all manifold studs? Quote
TodFitch Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 OK/ are these only on exhaust studs or on all manifold studs? They are to allow some expansion and contraction of the exhaust manifold as it changes temperature. That expansion/contraction is greatest at the ends, so they only need to be where the forward most and rear most exhaust ports. Quote
