William Davey Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 My '55 C-3-B8 with the 259 V-8 showing the 4 barrel WCFB carb. Although everything looks stock, I've been told that MOPAR never put a 4 barrel on a pick up until the 60 or 61 Adventurer with the 413. Don Coatney Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 The Spitfire head was a Crashler (25" engine) only thing. I believe some trucks had the 25" engine but it did not have the Spitfire head. I did pick up a Spitfire head for my Desoto engine but I have not yet installed it. 1 Quote

Don Coatney Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 The word "Spitfire" is the only difference I know of. The compression might have been higher but I have not seen any documentation to support that. I think Chrysler wanted to spit on the Buick "Fireball 8". Quote
