  3. when i go straight ahead i hear nothing. Only by rotating the spider and side gears.
  4. I can move the gears. There is more than .012 clearance. I will measure it tomorrow. Can I adjust the gears?
  5. Hey guys, i have a problem with my rear axle. It is very noisy. I fear these are the spidergears. It Also has a lot of clearance ( play?) within. What can I do?
  6. I dont use a hammer. I cut the sprocket on the side. The Problem was that the old sprocket was too much undersized. The first puller-tool (!?!) "Abzieher" is brocken, the second was a heavy one - but the sprocket dosen´t move.... so i cut it! Someone has changed the position of the sprocket - look at the pic! I take all positions like it was.
  7. The new chain and sprockets are installed. It was very bad to remove the old sprocket. I have destroyed the old sprocket. That was the only way... I take the old Position for the parts. I hope the Engine runs good...
  8. Hey guys, Does anyone know how much oil is in a long block engine? In the manual stands 5 qts, but i think its for short block. I think in a long block engine must be more oil!?

  11. Hey guys, thanks for your posts. This forum is great. I learn a lot! the pilot bushing is out of the engine. I will make a new one in the next days. @ timing chain i will take the original position, i dont wanna have a race engine. I´m happy when it runs the timing chain and cam-sprocket is out but the crank-sprocket is very hard. I broke my pullers I will try it tomorrow again
  12. Hey Guys, a friend told me that when changing the timing chain and sprockets it is better to turn the chain one tooth further - Because the stretching of the chain. what do you think about it?
