pflaming Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Some one just bought and opened for sale a 45,000 sq ft ware house in which the PO had bought and hoarded 50's and earlier car parts. In one room a floor space of approx 20' X 20' was covered with old transmissions, half of that space the tyrannies were 3 and 4 deep. In another room I counted 20 stacks of approx 20 full "new" hub caps of all different makes. He has shelves of old radios, oil bath air cleaners, never opened parts, carburators, etc., etc., This warehouse had not been opened for some 20 years. It was an experience just to walk through it. Needless to say, I'm going back, SO if you will pm me parts you need with pictures and good descriptions and price you are willing to pay, I will go shopping for you when I return which will be early next week. I LOVE this hobby, at my age, best sex I've had in years! Quote
Don Coatney Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 I wonder if this guy has the fuel pump parts I need? Quote
mrwrstory Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Hey Paul, I need a radio. Check you PMs Quote
1FSTRYD Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Paul how about weatherstrips for our burbans Quote
Grdpa's 50 Dodge Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 If they have any weatherstrips and door fuzzies for a 2 door clup coupe of 1950 vintage. including windsheild seals. Trunk seal. Anything with a seal in it I probably need (except motor). That would include the vent seal also Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 gee...Don don't tell me you were shipped a fuel pump that was incomplete...???? say it's not true...I know of a spare that was in the back of a Dodge somewhere.. Quote
pflaming Posted January 10, 2014 Author Report Posted January 10, 2014 Did a run to the warehouse today. These pics will give you some idea of what is there. One is the tyranny area and only half of them are in the picture. The 2nd is where SOME of the engines are. Crazy what is there. They have been sorting and shelving for two months and it still is not cleaned up. Will return next week, I'm making a shopping list so . . . Oh, and I AM looking for a good camera as well. 1 Quote
Robert Smith Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Golly... That's a lot of stuff! If there's a set of '40 D14 hub caps in there, let me know how much. Edited January 10, 2014 by Robert Smith Quote
pflaming Posted January 10, 2014 Author Report Posted January 10, 2014 Those pictures are just tip of the iceberg. Most rooms are filling up stacks of 10' high 24" deep shelves. Looks like a university library. Quote
TodFitch Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Any '33 Plymouth brake drums? Preferably the PD centrifuge ones rather than PCXX stamped steel ones. Quote
pflaming Posted January 10, 2014 Author Report Posted January 10, 2014 Will make a run or two next week. I saw stacks or wood spoke wheels and a whole large area of shiny fender mount head light 'buckets'. There are always several others there, none so far have been Mopar lookers. The place looks like one of the places on American Pickers. I haven't even looked into their book and magazine shelves. Even with my limited knowledge of old vehicles I could spend several days just looking. I would enjoy going through that warehouse with a forum member show really knows old cars. Thus far I have 18 requests for the following vehicles. 1933 Plymouth 1936 Dodge 1939 Desoto 1947 Plymouth (3) 1950 + Plymouth Quote
rtlsnakedaddy Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Are there any trim pieces or emblems? II need some for my Chrysler 54 coupe. Quote
austinsailor Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Is anything cataloged or have part numbers? Sounds like they don't. This will be tough to figure out what anything is, even by someone who knows old cars well. Quote
pflaming Posted January 10, 2014 Author Report Posted January 10, 2014 The PO pencil painted id's on most of the major parts but that and his memory was the organizational method. Quote
deathbound Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 Anything for a 1938 Plymouth Coupe (some '37 stuff works also)? How far from the Los Angeles area & are they letting anyone else visit? Quote
pflaming Posted January 11, 2014 Author Report Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) 1) the warehouse is in Fresno, CA. and is open for business to folk with cash, 2) Will ask about the 37/38 Plymouth parts. pflaming Posted January 12, 2014 Author Report Posted January 12, 2014 Will let you know. It will be wed or thurs the 15th or 16th. You do know that the third one in brings the O'Dooles. If we were in Mich, Wisc, or Minn, it would more likely be Millers Hi Life. Quote
casper50 Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Paul I need the following for a 46-48 dodge. Right rear fender, front bumper complete, left hood latches with cable complete, 4 nice hubcaps and a radio. Thanks for looking. Edited January 12, 2014 by casper50 Quote

About 3 hours from here to Fresno so looking at a late morning arrival. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Paul...I think you are going to need a couple weeks time to search for all these peoples parts . You might want to take a lap top along to keep a current progress report of what this guy has for them too. Bob 1 Quote
pflaming Posted January 12, 2014 Author Report Posted January 12, 2014 I will do the best I can. This forum has been such a benefit to me that it is the least I can do. The warehouse is only 40 miles away so I can slip over there quite easily. Quote
Don Coatney Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 What is the name, address, and phone number of this place? Quote
pflaming Posted January 12, 2014 Author Report Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) To all: I wasn't attempting to keep this secret but the interest is such that you may want me just to confirm quality and work direct and that would suit me fine. WWW.GLOBECLASSICCARPARTS.COM 701 West Fulton Street, Fresno, Calif. 559 352 1407 Steve Rothholz / partner owner. Unless otherwise directed I will check on all requests to date. TodFitch Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Interesting spot. Turns out that this is the warehouse that Don of Don's Antique Auto Parts in Niles (Fremont), California had moved stuff into out of various buildings in Niles when he lost his leases. Don still has one building of parts in Niles but since he is now in a retirement home they aren't really available for anyone to buy. Steve, the new owner, is looking to buy that last building full of parts and add them to this stash. Steve is very nice to chat with, far better than Don was if you were ever in the Bay Area and trying to buy things. His prices seem very reasonable to me (I was able to get two spare headlight lenses for my '33 for a very reasonable price). He will be at the Pomona Swap Meet this weekend, probably the only one there with parts from the 20s through 50s as Pomona seems to draw parts for newer cars. And he will be at Turlock at the end of the month. He had a bunch of Mopar stuff, lots of transmissions, some engines including one with a Plymouth Truck (PT) prefix. Also met Paul Flaming there but he was busy looking for parts on this list you guys gave hime while I was mostly wondering around like a kid in a candy store. So while we didn't chat much, it was nice to meet another forum member. 1 Quote
