Dodgeb4ya Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Boy what memories this brings! Good Ole Whitefront! Bought my first 51 plymouth voltage regulator from there in 1968! Quote
Roger the Dodger Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Thanks for posting, enjoyed them. Quote
Don Jordan Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 These are great pictures. Takes me back to another time. One quick observation: looking at all the cars I didn't see one Japanese car. Quote
randroid Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Gents, I, too, grew up in that area and had many memories rekindled by those pictures. Thanks. -Randy Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 being from the east side of the nation I must express my disappointment when I opened the pictures and did not find shots of Lower Alabama Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Did they have cameras in Lower Bama in the 50's? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 black and white only though... Quote

LAKOTA169 Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Thanks for posting. I used to go with my parents to visit relatives in the LA area. First trip was around 1953. Went in a '49 Chrysler. Last trip was 1969. I remember going to the Long Beach Pike in the mid-60's. Quote
randroid Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Lakota, Good thing you went to The Pike when you did. The Long Beach Pike became The Nu Pike and then it got turned into Marina Del Rey around 1970. -Randy Quote
55 Fargo Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) being from the east side of the nation I must express my disappointment when I opened the pictures and did not find shots of Lower Alabama Being from the north, thought this was Logan and Arlington, in Winnipeg, which is atough corner in the ghettos of Winnipeg today.. BobT-47P15 Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Cool pics of the olden daze. I especially like the color ones to see the color schemes on the old cars. Most 30s abd 40s cars seem to be single color. The two tones started creeping in in the 50s. Also good to show wheel/hubcap usage. There were Chrysler Corp cars throughout the pics. Quote
fedoragent Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 I just went through all of these. Loved it. Thanks again. Quote
