P15-D24 Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 No problems: I like the new 24 7 chat feature. I did not do anything to my posts on the old system. Are they gone? No matter, just wondering. Nope they got moved over to the new site.
P15-D24 Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 When chat indicates someone / others are on, can one see who that is w/o logging in? I like the new chat feature. No but I wouldn't be surprised to see the feature add in the future. The chat is a pretty new feature.
JBNeal Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 While doing research, I have tried looking up other members' posts while viewing their profile. Only a few posts are shown on the page, but I cannot find how to view older posts on a member's profile page. However, if I go to the advanced search function, enter in the member's name, what forum to search, and specify "posts" for search results, the member's posts will be listed. So this is not so much having trouble getting something to work as it is using the search function for something that was on the old forum's member's profile page.

It will show active posts. Then click on "Find Content" Looks like it pulls up the 200 posts,
JBNeal Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 I had not tried the member name rollover, but was looking in the members list. I tried the "Find Content" button on a member's profile page, and it does the same thing by pulling up their previous posts...thanks!
LowerthanLife Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 how do i post pictures? is there a how to or newbie area with some tips. ? i looked around but sometimes i have trouble seeing things that are right in front of my face.
Young Ed Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Just a couple hints I've discovered. Everyone should go to their profile and update gender. A lot of my friends on here are currently "not telling". Also if watching threads the little # next to it represents the number of people watching that particular thread not the # you are watching.

Young Ed Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 I cannot post on another thread I'm having that trouble too. I tried it a few minutes later and it went.
P15-D24 Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Log out and back in. Should be fine after logging back in.
jeff0547 Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 I have dozens of threads saved with a "short-cut" to a file on my desktop. (I think that the computer saves the URL where you are at that moment) Now, when I click on one it just says that you have moved and gives me the new address, but no way to find the thread. Every time Don or Tim answered a question by suggesting that we use the "search" feature first, I did and I saved them. Will these "Short cuts" ever work again? Not sure why you changed everything, but I hope it gets better.

Thanks for trying. Sorry it doesn't look like I can recover them. I thought I could use the thread number to trace back but that didn't work. Best solution would be if you can remember anything about the topic use the search feature and re-identify the threads. Sorry I don't have better news.

Two ways to add a pic to a thread. If the pic is on your own host like photo bucket, click on the "image" icon (little green tree in the tool bar) and fill in your URL. If the image file is on your local computer click on "More Reply Options" in the lower right. After the new editor opens click on "Choose Files..." in the lower left. Select your local file(s) and they will upload, then click "Add Reply" and you are done.
