They must have had an Edsel sitting around.....

(this car now belongs to a fellow on the HAMB.....borrowed the pics

from there. I don't think he's sure what to do with it.)

I just post things like that because I think it's interesting to see what

someone has done to an old car -- even if not to your personal taste.

Who knows if it will ever get finished. Owner says he hasn't been able to

determine who built it. He lives in Nova Scotia

He hasn't owned it for about 2 years now Bob.....your hamb post is from 2011.........This is the rest of the story.

Couldn't one remove and replace the dog house, rear fenders and funny rear bumper, raise it to it's stock height and be very close to stock? That would take about three days.

hard to say what has or has not been welded the rear fender seems appear in the picture to have been filled..if so a full weld would be expected..if but spots still a hassle for sure..hard to say how the rear panel hs been affixed..three days...would thake that long to investigate and decide on an attack..

Gents,

I liked the primered front fender best, followed closely by the vertical dent in the rear fender. The less-than-subtle emulation of the ever-popular lemon-sucking Edsel grill stands out in dubious honor of the son who thought tractors were bitchin'.

I went to the HAMB where lots of pics are. They put a clip in front, their take on a racing dash, etc., etc., etc. What a interesting mixture of unusual ideas.

I think Randy said it best :D

I think the front end design is well executed. The rear does not match, it looks like it came from an old Flash Gordon movie. It would be fun to take to a car show, jaws would drop!

only the owner has to like it..well he does not have to like but he has to live with it...not anything close to my liking either but again...represents lots of work..I am just curious if the add ons are actuall welded on or just scuptured with filler...that tell the real story..

Don't care for it one bit.. And that's coming from a guy with a kustom like this haha... The Plymouth grills are the best looking from that era not sure why anyone would change that.. The back of cars are my biggest pet peeves "hence my car" you guys prolly don't care for it but I love the way it came out and it looks mean.. Just my 2 haha...

I think the owner may have traded/sold it to a friend who has the

capability to get it up and running. Many HAMBers agreed it was

either ugly.....or neat.....depending upon their tastes. But it is

definitely different.

No one has been able to find any real history on the vehicle as to

who did the work. Another automotive mystery of life.

As I said earlier.....I like to post cars like this I think are interesting

because someone went to the trouble to modify them. Whether they

prove to be likeable will be up to the viewers. At least it's an old

Mopar within our field of interest.

Well said, I agree, and as a lover of 61 dodges and Plymouths, I like different, makes the world a more interesting place.

My reaction at first was that the car was hideous, but the more I looked at it and looked at old pics I think its growing on me a little. Not what I would do to a car ever but I can appreciate something different that somebody put a lot of hard work into.
