  1. My reaction at first was that the car was hideous, but the more I looked at it and looked at old pics I think its growing on me a little. Not what I would do to a car ever but I can appreciate something different that somebody put a lot of hard work into.
  2. My dad bought the 50 special deluxe coupe I have now when I was 12 as a father/son project car. I never drove it to school or anything like that, just spent a lot of time working on it with my dad. We ended up selling it because I got my 72 skylark convertible when I was in college and he had his 68 vette. We both always regretted selling it. Long story short I bought the same car back in the fall. Im 26 now, and I plan on having that car for the rest of my life.
  3. I'll get the measurement on it in the next couple of days. Thanks I've been emailing a few junkyards around and got a lead from CTC Auto Ranch but they want a lot of $ for it. Im going to keep looking but at least I have a possible
  4. I need one, doesn't have to be perfect, just decent driver quality. The one on my car is really pitted, and the only other one I've seen is on ebay for ridiculous money and its in worse shape than mine. I bought another one off ebay that was off of a 51 Chrysler and its about a half inch too short, so that will be up for sale if anyone needs it. Basically just wondering if anybody has one laying around or has a lead on one. I just need the outer chrome part. Or another option I'm considering is getting the one I have redone, so if anybody could recommend a good rechromer and maybe have a ballpark idea of how much it would cost. Thanks
  5. Great to hear from some of you guys
  6. pm'd yeah, there are a lot of us
  7. Anybody on here law enforcement officers that might be interested in exchanging patches or t shirts or anything else? You can PM me if you don't want to post up any info.
  8. I vote leave the T-Bird alone. Those are getting rarer and rarer. You can buy a wrecked fox with a good drivetrain and salvage a lot of parts for the swap from it.
  9. Juat got power back here a few hours ago. Where I live wasn't hit too bad but I know a lot of people worse off than I am. Parts of Long Island are still under water and there are a lot of people sill without power. Houses and cars flooded, trees down on the houses etc. I work in Manhattan North which fared pretty well. The bridges and tunnels were shut down and have mostly reopened except for the tunnels which are flooded. There is still no power south of 34th street and most of the subways in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn South are flooded badly. Of course there is looting going on in the areas affected by the storm. MTA is just starting to get things going again. Its going to be a long process to recover. My thoughts and prayers to those affected by this storm.
  10. Going to get hit here too. Plymouth is in the garage, and I will be working to protect the residents of New York City. Hopefully it isn't as bad as they're saying.
  11. Good luck with it brother The Plymouth is in good hands
  12. Mine is generic light blue from an auto paint store catalog. close, but not exact
  13. That wasn't the problem. Apparently it can't be done in the dmv office, has to be done through phone and mail with the Albany office. That, and my insurance card doesn't physically have the word 'historical' printed on it, even though I have collector insurance.
