greg g Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Got up and shoved it aside so we can get out and about. Calling for another foot over the weekend. Guess that makes up for our snowless november and early Dec. Hope everyone else in tis path made out OK Quote
Mark D Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Had to push 3" of snow off the truck before I headed to work. Now its just pouring rain here in middle Massachusetts. Quote
1940plymouth Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 I got called to work last evening to plow and sand, then we all had to be back to work at 5am this morning. A good six to eight inches of snow so far. Home for lunch then back to work Quote
JerseyHarold Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 I'm hoping for a lull in the weather when my kids drive back to Rochester and Geneseo (respectively) in the next couple of weeks. More nail-biting for yours truly.... Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 Western NY got 10-12 inches around Buffalo. Not too bad except for the drifts between the house and the car, and the snow blower giving up the ghost. They're good about moving the stuff off the roads (and into my driveway) around here - despite recent mild winters, they have lots of practice and equipment (to knock over my mailbox). Supposed to be on and off again between here and Rochester the next week, but the weather gurus aren't calling for significant accumulations. Quote
pflaming Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 We just arrived in Indianapolis. They had a very unexpected 4-6 inches and shut down the airport. Flying in the country side was was a constant field of white and black from the air, simply beautiful. A very welcome change from Central California. Happy New Year. Quote

They were warning about it since Monday evening. And they were talking it up all day on Christmas day, so I left my family that afternoon to get home before it hit. My Sister said that they had around an inch early Wednesday morning, but later in the day I heard from my Mother and they got around 7" total on Wednesday. I trust the airport was open by Thursday morning so you could get in OK? Merle Quote
pflaming Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 My ticket had my name incorrect and they would not let us fly. It took them four hours to get me a ticket so we missied our flight from San Jose to Pheonix to Indy. So they bused us to SFO, flew us on the overnight flight to Newwerk, NJ then to Indy. LONG DAY. But we are hee and enjoying the show. Quote

I'd expected Fresno or Bakersfield to have some sort of service... Based on the amount I cleaned off the car, we only had about 8" of light powder at the hotel in Truckee over Christmas. But that was just nice icing on top of the 3' to 5' they had just before we got there. Made for nice skiing. Quote
pflaming Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 we can fly from Fresno, but if the planes are overbooked they slow down until the flight has left then you,re out of luck. My wife has a sister in the area, we drive there and they take us to SFO, SJ, or Oakland. Was going to have coffee with Merle here in Indy but he had to return too soon. I thiink the Buskirds live here, would look them up if I knew where. The snow is really a treat. Quote
