Hi Guy's;

I am looking for a set of 3 point belts to use in my 52 Pilothouse.

Anybody have any specific recommendations on what brand and model # fit well? There is too many options on-line to choose from and I am trying to prevent false starts on this.

Thanks, Jeff

I'm trying to install 3-point seatbelts on my 51 B3C that I purchased from Julianos.  Many months ago someone posted pics of how they positioned their floor mountings, especially around the fuel tank pipe on the drivers side where there is little room.  I found several threads on the subject, but now I can't find a thread with those pics.  If anyone knows the link to that thread or could share pics of their solution, it would be appreciated!

Merle, these are the pics I had seen.  At that time did not save a link to the post or remember that it was you.  The position you chose looks great.  Thanks for sharing again!

I put the buckle side a little further apart than Merle did

consequently, it put the drivers side buckle attaching bolt, poking out underneath over the gas tank…. I took about 1/2”’off and I feel a lot better about it

And just to bring up the obvious…..

make sure any “burs”, weld splatter or sharp edges are filed down where the belt might rub.

Brent, your pic of the lower driver's side looks as though the belt recoil housing and stationary link might have different attaching points.  Is that the case or are they on the same angle bracket like Merle's?

Nope, same as Merle…. I just ran the fill neck between the recoil and the stationary ?

I realized after I had it done and started using them that I should have set the buckle ends farther apart, like yours are. They still work fine though, so I’m not going to change it.

Any of my photos from old threads are likely gone as I’ve closed out my Photobucket account due to reasons discussed in another forum thread.

For the upper mount I figured out where I wanted it and drilled the hole. I also drilled 2 smaller holes above and below the bolt hole. I then carefully lowered the anchor plate down inside the B-pillar, attached to a wire, until I could line up the anchor to the bolt hole. I ran a bolt in to hold it in place while I plug welded it to the B-pillar through the 2 smaller holes. If your cab is already painted you could probably drill and tap the anchor plate to use machine screws, in place of my plug welds, to hold them in place.

Thanks guys!  This assures me the best install.  I'll also be adding a lap belt for grandkids.

Grandkids are awesome! Have 3 granddaughters myself…. A word of caution though, hard to get the two worlds of playing dolls with them and working on trucks, together sometimes… LOL

JB, thanks for connecting the other seatbelt thread.    Don't know how I found it the first time under "Shoulder Harness".  Guess I was just surfing the site.
