Rodney Bullock Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 I have a special video for Claybill as he is working on that street rod. He must be enjoying an early vacation. Bill I havebeen working on my street rod as well. I got it lowered and new exhaust on it. I even got some new wheels. Where are you Claybill? I fight the erge to show it as all my original car forum members like the originals. When it gets cold I won't be playing with the cars much. I am trying to get in as much fun as possible before the chill sets in. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted November 24, 2010 Author Report Posted November 24, 2010 This one is for claybill, when he turns up I hope he is surprized. The old Plymouth makes a guest apperance;) Quote
aero3113 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Looks great Rodney! Love the rims:cool:. I noticed your idle slowed down after you steped on the gas,why is that? My 218 does the same thing. When I first start the car and it warms up the idle is fast then when I step on the gas it slows down to a normal range. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 There is a device on the carb called a fast idle cam that helps the engine warm up when first started. If you tap the gas and the car slows down its working correctly. Quote

I keep forgetting that this "common" behavior for cars is no longer common now that everything has computerized ported fuel injection. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 BTW......where is Claybill?? Tom Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 He made this post not long ago.......don't know what it means. On 9-15-2010 "looks like my street rod is for sale.. " -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "things happening...soon, no more garage, and i have 5 cars...I must sell my 41 rod, and maybe another too...soo sad.."bill Quote
oldodge41 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 That car is beautiful. It has the right look and sound for a street rod. In my opinion that could be the poster car for fat-fendered rods. Quote
Suddensix Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 That is one sweet ride Rodney. Sure would like to see the front. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted November 25, 2010 Author Report Posted November 25, 2010 ok , let's see if I can accomadate that:) It's a big difference from how it looked this time last year when I got it. I had to personalize it. I think I am finished now. Quote

Merle Coggins Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 I thought it's "where's Waldo?" Here's Waldo. It's just south of Plymouth. Quote
old stovebolt Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 I thought it's "where's Waldo?" Nope, Horace Wink went Mustang..... as per the the Ford ad back in the '60s. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 I don't recall those ads at all. But I did find mention of Horace on another forum. Here is one quote.................. IIRC: This was a teaser ad run by Ford in 1964 prior to the release of the Mustang. No product was mentioned. The idea was to get people curious about what it meant. When the Mustang was released for sale a short time later, the ad was changed to: Where is Horace Wink?...He's Gone to Mustang Country. __________________ Link to the message board entitled "The Straight Dope"............http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=191092 Quote
