try the 49/52 web site.. http://www.oldplymouths.com/forums/index.php?act=idx

they are a bit more in tune to this body..granted the mechanics are the same and why all is pretty much recognzed here on the P15/D24, but get to a different body..parts and answers may be far and few between...I threw out my question on the wire hubcaps and brough back and empty net..figured as much from the get go but you tell yourself there is the odd chance...and some times you luck out...well..on a no reply you need to switch bait or go to another pond...I got a bite real quick in another pond...and I also go on the belief that nobody here owes me anything..it is get as it is given..no blood from the turnip as they say..

Mike,

My greatest fear with Pigiron is that the back glass be broken because I don't have a clue where I might find one. There's a wrecking yard about 20 miles from here that specializes in old iron and I'll call them tomorrow. What I need from you is some specs like actual size of the glass so I don't ship the wrong glass to you, and a price range would be good. I'll do what I can.

Mike, is the fastback window different from a regular sedan? If so, it will be tough to find as there were a lot fewer fastbacks made. Try contacting your local glass shop as most of them can check nationwide for the glass you need. You might get lucky but it will likely be pricey. Try Moore's in South Dakota as they have twelve 1950 Plymouths listed and one says 2 Door Fastback. http://www.mooresautosalvage.com/parts.asp?division=2&make=Plymouth Good luck!

Mike, you might check with these people who a parting out a P19 that

appears to be a fastback. Here's a link to their ad which contains an

800 phone number. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/49-50-51-52-PLYMOUTH-P19-2-DOOR-QUARTER-WINDOW-GLASS_W0QQitemZ120552614545QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item1c117eea91

Randy your p15 sedan window is fairly common compared to that p19 fastback. You don't see many of those. In fact I'm 99% sure I've still got a sedan rear window laying around the garage somewhere. I'll hang onto it for you and then nothing will happen to yours :)

Mike, when did you put an 8 in your Plymouth? Brain should be running on all six just like a reliable flathead!:P Good luck with the glass search and keep us updated. Glad to hear about the new job as well.

Thanks Robert! I got my permanent schedule today, so now i know where i stand on free time. kinda a neat deal 3 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off, so it looks like i will have time to get some work done on the ol' girl.

I have a nephew who works that kind of a schedule. He is a fire deparment paramedic, living in Fla. He has a second business doing pool maint on his some of his off days.

Has about 70 clients, and doesn't want anymore.

Good thing he is still young.

As long as you are working a "day shift" AM to PM schedule, these work really well. I did a PM to AM schedule for a month in 1999 when I was between jobs, and I never got used to it. I was so happy when I got a 5 day/week job on 2nd shift, 3:30 PM to Midnight, M-F. I think a $2/hr boost in pay also made a difference as well, but would have taken the same pay just to get off that schedule.

This is right up my ally, nights! i am not one for getting up at 5:30 in the morning, i have worked nights for the past 15 years or more, so it is good for me.

As long as the sun is down when I'm trying to get to sleep, its good. It was the getting done with work just after dawn that really made life difficult. Too tempting to try and shift to a day shift schedule on my days off. Current job on occassion has required me to come in at 5:30 AM which then required going to bed before the sun, and other occassions where I've had to be at work until 6:30 AM. A couple of times I've worked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift all in the same week. A very long, yet unproductive week to say the least. If I'm ever setting behind my current boss' desk, I will never do that to some one if at all possible. The loss in productivity and morale hardly justifies the perceived need of jerking some one's schedule around.

In my early years I used to hate doing a closing shift, home at 9:00 PM, on Sunday and then the open, be there at 5:30 AM on Monday. It was nearly 40 years ago, and it still makes me uncomfortable.
