tysouthwick Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 My favorite would have to be the 1956 cadillac Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 as the owner of two D19's I'm inclined to agree.. Quote
Beatles65 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Yes It has to be the front of an Edsel. One of the most popular gills out there. Here is a picture of my 1959 Edsel Ranger 4 door sedan. Picked this one up about a month ago. Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I was going to post the same Pic Greg did, I like those Rivieras with the grille that looks like it would eat you up. Second choice,,,, Quote
fstfish66 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 1932 Chryslers look good to me: this chrysler is beautiful,,, Quote
fstfish66 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I'll joint the group of bias..... i would hate to get the re chromeing bill for this grille,,, Quote
fstfish66 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 It's a photoshop of mine ... here is the way it really looks..so far.. I also have a complete stock front end just in case ... any side or rear pics of this dodge would be great,,, and how much was taken out,,,, a friend of mine is getting ready to chop a 48 thanks Quote
53_Suburban Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) '49-'50 Olds is also clean & nice... I've got to agree with you. I think this is one of the nicest frontends from the 40s thru the 60s. Looks even better with the hood shaved. Tim Adams: Shucks, the only thing that I delivered in mine was newspapers. Boring small town newspapers... Mine looked a lot like this one, even the color is close, but mine had a 2 piece windshield and painted wheels with baby moons. That smooth hood is just beautiful. JerseyHarold Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I was going to post the same Pic Greg did, I like those Rivieras with the grille that looks like it would eat you up. Second choice,,,, First choice for me!! Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 So many grills of that era are fascinating. I submit the '37 Terraplane's "fencer's mask" Quote
53_Suburban Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 While definately not my all time favorite grille, sadly it's the only one I've got... The minimal use of bright metal parts was no doubt partly due to the Korean war. The lower bar and the two outer parts of the upper are painted sheetmetal. The upper center and outer trim parts are stainless with a few pot metal highlights as shown below. The turnsignal bezels are pot metal while the headlamp doors are stainless. Quote
48P15Annie Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 I vote for this one! Is that the back bumper for a '58 Lincoln? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 Yes, I believe it is........... Switching some pieces from rear of one car to front of another can be pretty cool. Unfortunately this idea wasn't so great. Quote
Bingster Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 I got a bid on the '47 Desoto grill about a year ago. $1,000 for the center section and I think $350 for each side piece with the turn signals. The bumper was $350.00 The chrome will cost more than I paid for the car. Quote
Oldguy48 Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 My vote would be for the old Packard grilles. IMHO the most majestic looking grilles ever produced. Quote
