I can't take it anymore!

I just can't take it, I'm fed up, just fed up! It's so cold, so very cold. I went out to start the Plymouth and it said the same thing. It started however it just did not want to go out. I pulled it back into it's spot and we just sat there, a friend of mine came by in his car(1952 chevy) we followed him to the carry out. I did not get out, I just turned around and came back home. It was just to cold to get out9I was hungry too)

Please let there be light, sun light, 65 degress I need it. I don't have a project this winter so I'm going crazy. My only hope maybe I can get my old tyco racecar track out the basement;)

It is 17 degrees here right now. This past Sunday I had Old Plymouth withdrawel, so I went out in the garage, turned on the Giants game, with a eggnog and spiced rum and sat in the Plymouth to watch the game.

My son came out in the garage, shook his head, and said "Dad, you are crazy".

By the way, his '51 Chevy 4dr sedan sits in the bay next to my '40 Plymouth

Nothing like getting the drive-in experience in your garage.

You need to pop some popcorn and get your favorite beverage and invite the son in for drive-in night. You guys can sit in your cars and watch the game or the movie. Sounds crazy, but that is what us car nuts do.

I've done that at times too. It has been cold here since early on this week. High of 35 and low in the teens. Last Wednesday it was about 58 degrees and I took the Plymouth out for a 10 mile drive. That will satisfy me for about a month or so. What is funny is I've got a restored '65 Chevy truck and I miss driving the Plymouth more than the truck. It seems to be more fun. Probably because there is no radio in the Plymouth and I can just sit back and hear that flathead sing.

Hi Rodney, at least it will warm up, and you Dudes in that part of the Country get an early spring.

Man, it's going to go down to -4 here tonight, with a wind tomorrow from the northwest will make it feel like almost -30, how would yall like that, and it getsdark early up north here at 5:00 PM, a long cold winters nights for 2 to 3 months and then transition weather for 2 months.

I would love to have a southern type winter, even temps in the 40s would be great with no snow, now this weather up here bites Bro, iam getting more sick of it with every year I get older.

Hey Rodney, you can come up here and rub on my hood from the Studebaker. I can even heat the garage for you, get it up to 55 degrees or so. When you finish rubbing on the hood, you can then rub on the fender. All that rubbing should take your mind of having nothing to do, and keep you warm also.......

wow -1 degress, that's my wife left me last night cold. It's to cold for me:) bright spot last night...101 cars you should drive was on the speed channel, a little mini marathon got my mind off things, I'm going down the countrt to burn some leaves, for the guy's near here there is an indoor car show in timonium today and tomorrow:D I'm going to get permission(you know who) and go tomorrow so I got to get all my work done......... oh boy!

Man, know what you guys are going through back there. It was 21 high today, but I had to get the outside Christmas tree up, and decorated though. Had to have my son over to help, because they don't like me climbing ladders anymore, just because I fell off a shovel this past year and broke a few bones in the back. Got to go up on the 8 footer when the wife was at the store, and obedient sons never argue with their dad. Closest I got to car stuff was hearing him pull up in his Chrs SRT8, w/magnaflows they sure sound nice. Anyway tree done and looks great.

OH, that 21 is celsius.

Rodney, it is again 0 here this morning, with a windchill of -15, last night at midnight it actually dipped to -10, with a windchill of -25, warmed a bit overnight.

I find everything works well till about 0, then things get dicier as the temps drop.

Curled up on the sofa last night and watched 88 minutes, after a 12.5 hour day shift at the prison.

Another thing happened last night, I have a large central electric forced furnace, it wasn't keeping up, it kept running, and the house dipped to 65. This morning went down to the basement and checked her out, the filter was clogged pulled it out, and bango, the furnace warmed up the house to 70, then shut off, as it should have been doing. My fault, left the filter in too long before replacing. When a furnace can't draw the air through the cold air returns, it won't work well, lesson for me to be more vigilant on filter replacement............Fred

I was just thinking this week how I seem to be outside working in this cold weather each Winter. Seems I don't get everything done when it is even 50 degrees and have to gear up and crank up the Kerosun heater. I can get it about 20 degress warmer than the outside 15 degrees. The thing I don't like is that things break in the cold weather and it hurts more when you bust a knuckle. All week I have been in the not so well heated or insulated garage removing the front suspension and axle from my 4WD for repairs before the snow Really arrives. Then there is the fender and door body repair from the September 14th aftermath of Ike that I am finishing up. Some of that has to be done in the real outside. Not even leaves on the trees to call it shade tree work.

I figure that is like the pioneer spirit that made our country great by doing what had to be done regardless of weather. Grear up and Get out, Frank

I have the same problem here in N.E. Pennsylvania. I've been a winter-hater since I was a kid (long, long ago:) ) Even though I've lived here all my life, I dread when winter approaches. I have a tough time dealing with the snow, ice,cold temps, etc. I figure 85 in the shade is just about perfect. I should move to a warmer climate, but with family & friends firmly planted here, it won't happen.
