  1. Should I expect to see this one at the end of this month? AL
  2. {Hey JP, Is that Al Butlers car? Looks a lot like his and I know he lives in SD Co. } Heck Bill, I know the pics were small, but, anyway he wouldn't need a trailer(only @45miles) even if he was going xcountry. Plus he wouldn't have to worry about what to do with the engine, unless he wanted modern power. My car represents my era, (poor man's, lets do something with it,) kinda car. Not a Trailer Q, show car, or racer, but has never let me down, even when going past the 50 mile syndrome. Was good to see you at gg. Keep up your good work. AL
  3. Very nice Fred, and thanks to Chet for bringing it to our attention. AL
  4. Heard a story once about a cop that used to like to catch em in the act, but his best was after retirement, no "IA". Sons car alarm sounded early AM. Nimble family arises and responds. Son driving with father at shotgun able to pick up active pursuit. Son/car better then bad guys/car overtake. The father alights from pursuing vehicle and ruins forward view of scums bags by cleaning their windshield with a alum BB bat. He said they still drove off blindly, but pursuit became much slower, and active law enforcement was able to intercede. Son and friends were able to convenience SB and friends from any repeated actions. Able to relate this story since the teller has pasted away. AL Probably cleaned up a lot of auto burgs in area at that time.
  5. Just a thought,Langdon supplies these carbs with a bonnet type aircleaner. If that is what you're using you may be experiencing air restriction. I had to modify mine to allow more air flow, and I have noticed others with some interesting variations. AL
  6. Got mine from a guy down this way in El Cajon that rebuilds trans. Jim Rupp, 619-443-1016, (daytime #), a lot closer than PA. AL
  7. Check service manual under back-up light. Has picture where switch goes on trans. Tapped hole may not have been on pre 50's trans though. Manual 46 to 53 pg 243 Manual 46 to 54 pg 292 Got my switch from Riddle up in WA state AL
  8. Currently running stock rear springs/shocks. Front springs stock, with relocated shock mounts(higher/longer) Front stabilizer bar stock. Car has been handling well with this configuration, but recent events have caused me to wonder about the reliability of fast driving under earthquake conditions. Would a stiff rear suspension bar help? Although I am running a dressed up ( not goosed up) 218, speed doesn't matter, since west is the Pacific Ocean, and east would be toward the epicenter. Anyway all is good out here, just a little rock, and rolling. No high heat, flooding , tornado's, or hurricanes. Just a little earth expansion. Was told when I moved out here, 44 yr's ago that this was going to break off, and become an island someday. Well I'm still waiting. AL
  9. Got a P-15/D24 or a close facsimile, you are at the right place. First, what do you have , what's your problem, and what do you want to accomplish. Next , where are you located. (help might be just around the corner.) Next, nasties, and BS do no speed up answers, and only add to superfluous dialogue that extendes the thread. The answer givers are here, and, I as others, are thankful for that. 48 still running great, and the 34 holding it's own. AL
  10. Just got an E from my daughter down in NC showing an alligator in the surf off of Wrightsville. Hope no one was planning a vacation down that way. Must be so much activity down Fla way tween the drug and immi runners they're being pushed up north. With tornados, hurricanes, and gators, our EQ rumbles are nothing. AL
  11. Now that the clunkers are streaming in, and availability of choices are increasing, I was wondering what the advantages of an exchange of the rear end would be. The Ford explorer 8.8 was mentioned, and would seem to be a good fit, with a 3.7? w/ disc. Currently running a 218 w/ OD. Headers, Offy w/2 carter webers, stock cam, electronic dist. Car is a driver that I enjoy around town , and Sunday drives. Why do I want to change anything?(ya all sound like the wife now) Well I haven't done anything to it in a year, and ya got to keep having fun. AL
  12. Don't have pt#, mc came with bracket from ECI, they stated it was mustang late 80's(?) If you got this from ECI they must have sent the wrong mc, and should xchange for you. When I was looking for a cap to make a power bleeder, it appeared that many ford models of that era, had the same size/configuration mc, but may have different bore sizes. AL
  13. .Have the Mustang M/C also, and my ports face trans. Have disc/drum with 2/10 no adj. has been working fine. AL
  14. Reverting back to my previous statement, I leave mine all the time. Probably the difference is the fact that my OD is hot wired(toggle switched) When I park with cable in and soleniod turned off, car does not move. Yes it is an R10, switched hot wired to solenoid, and a cable. When driving in these positions, yes it does freewheel. Why it gear locks when parked. ??? I am not a trans mechanic or engineer, and bought this OD from a trusted rebuilder out here. Oh, and I have never had it roll away. AL
  15. Not so, I park mine in gear (lock) all the time. Tired of burning up ebrake pads. AL
