  1. I bought one of the universal brackets for mine. It was around $35 off of Ebay. I modified the top bracket to work. You can get a larger pulley for the large belt from speedway motors. It wasn't more than $15.
  2. Norm I like your idea. I think the problem for me with the POC is it isn't laid back enough for me. I have enough rules and stuff to follow at work that I don't want to do that in my hobby!!! I like the get together and the Saturday and Friday night cruises much better than a show any day. I've been to shows that started out as a 10 or 20 car get together and now become shows basically. No awards, just people getting together, have a bite to eat possibly, and enjoying the cars. The public can always be invited. I think the no mods thing and that people put you or your car down due to mods being done kind of turns me off a bit. That is why I don't hang with that crowd. I like an original car, purity is cool. If I like driving my car though and want to add an alternator, radial tires, and/or an overdrive that should be something I can do. I'm no less of a person because of it, and my car is no worse or better than yours. If you like all original that is great too. I think we should all just get along and enjoy each others cars. I love meeting new people and sharing stories and the interests. It's all about the people here folks, once they are gone do the cars really matter anyway?
  3. I bought one for my car from California Car cover. It is an indoor cover so it was a little less expensive, but still over $200. It is super nice though. I can wash the car and cover it up for 6 months and there isn't a spec of dirt on it anywhere once I uncover it.
  4. Congrats Mark. That car sure is a beauty! I hope to see it in person some day.
  5. I used open end wrenches on mine too Tod. I went to modern last winter and it has driven great. All I had to do to make the nuts easier to put on is to put the trans in neutral and after starting the nuts I was able to tighten them when I spun the shaft around to get to the other two nuts.
  6. You two are a couple of cool cats. Cars look great and I bet it was neat to see two P-15's in a wedding.
  7. I spoke with the guys at Terrill and found them very helpful. Even when I didn't buy anything from then which was really nice. I bought my bearings and Gasket kit from Kanter. Haven't had any troubles yet. Bought the rest of my parts from Roberts. I've had good luck with them so far.
  8. I'm with Tim Adams on this one, bad ground. I had that happen and used a little sand paper around where the socket goes and it fixed the issue.
  9. Get a runtz fuel gauge resistor. I bought mine from speedway and it was easy to install and works like a charm. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/12-Volt-to-6-Volt-Reducer,2374.html
  10. Saw that car at Frog Follies last week in Evansville and last year. A really nice car up close.
  11. Here here to Norm's coupe. He has provided myself and others on this forum with great advice and sent me a great looking hubcap when I needed. Thanks Norm!
  12. Took a picture of this one over the weekend.
  13. Wished I would have known you were around I would have looked you up. Seems like I saw a few bicycle riders around this weekend.
  14. Just got back from Frog Follies Street rod show in Evansville, IN. Got plenty of pics of the mopars that were there. This is really a neat event, cheap, and a lot of fun. Car ran great the 2 1/2 hours over and 2 1/2 hours back. The weather was in the 70's all weekend and it only rained on Friday night. It was a good weekend and I met a lot of very nice people. I enjoyed the drive as I always take the back roads and old highways. Went over to Carmi, IL and went across the toll bridge to New Harmony, IN. My camera batteries died before I had a chance to take pictures of the car in downtown New Harmony. It is a historic looking town. Check out the pics. http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u122/siufan6/Frog%20Follies%202009/
  15. I met Clay down in Arkansas in May. Really enjoyed his company. I couldn't get him to pose for a picture with me though. Hope to meet you someday too Bob. Missed you in July. I'm sure we'll cross paths someday.
  16. Yep, it lights the the quarter mounted lights thru the turn signal switch, plus it will turn off whatever side turn signal is on with the brakes depressed so you still have turn signals. Then the other wire runs straight to the center stop lamp. All three light up every time I press the brakes. I just put in a new heavy duty turn signal switch with hazards as well. It's great.
  17. I did this on my car Ed. If you have an aftermarket turn signal switch it is really easy to do as you can wire the brake lights thru the switch. Here's a post from a few years ago when I did it.
  18. It happened to me Don last year. I went to O'reilly's and purchased a new gas cap. Not thinking about it I saw a peculiar plastic piece on the inside of the cap. I put it on and drove it about 10 miles on my way to a car show and it wanted to die at the stop sign. So I pulled over and changed over to my original cap. I kept it with me, as I know how things always work for me. So when I took off the cap I heard the pressure come off. Knew that was the problem. I took that cap apart and go rid of the part that keeps the pressure. It works good. Just pried it out with a screwdriver. May not be your only problem, but it sure will help.

Have you drove it with the OD yet? I wondered how it drove. Is the glass tinted? That looks really good.
  20. I put mine in without taking the glass out. I took all the garnish moldings off so that made it easier to work with. Then I could put the inner sweeper on the molding and the on the door I got it in place and glued it in with 3m weatherstrip adhesive. Used black of course. The I took wooden clothespins and used them to shove the glass over a bit to hold the sweeper in place for about 15-20 minutes. Then it pretty much set up on it's own. Wasn't a bad job at all.

Car looks great Mark. Missed you at Pinckneyville on Sunday. It was a good show. Hope to catch up with you in the future. I'd love to get a better look at your '47.
  22. Went to an all original 1960 and older car show in Pinckneyville, IL. A small town about 15 miles west of me. I met another P-15 owner there from Staunton. He had a '48 coupe that was original and with low miles. Nice car. Chatted with him a bit. Some other neat cars there as well. The show was at the Thresherman's Steam, Gas, and Tractor show. Saw some neat steam engines too. Thought I would share some pictures. http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u122/siufan6/Pinckneyville%20Threshermans%20Show%202009/ P-15 that was there.
  23. I agree with Randy. The only time I've had problems with vapor lock are on start up. Especially when the I just get home, get out to open the garage and shut the car off in between. Then hop back in and try to start up a hot engine it usually vapor locks a bit.
  24. Wow! That '47 looks awesome. Very nice. Thanks for posting.
