  1. Sounds good. So far I'm not as busy this week. What time will you be coming through Southern IL?
  2. I'm with you Don. Haven't driven my car since Oct. 31. Starting to have withdrawls. Waiting to find a day when it's not raining and not cold.
  3. The rubber hose is attached to the drain pipe right? That happened to me and I didn't know there was supposed to be a hose and it drained on the floor. Now it has stopped leaking.
  4. Happy birthday Jim. Glad you and Don got to connect in the Lou. I missed a chance to meet up with Don today. Seems work is always messing up things. Guess it is a necessary evil.
  5. Gonna be a neat coupe Bob. Glad you guys decided to fix it. Keep us updated.
  6. I've got the two wire setup and with the Runtz voltage reducer for the fuel gauge it reduces the voltage down and it works fine. Works just like it did on 6 volts actually, guess cause it still is. It was easy to hook up and is pretty inexpensive.
  7. I had a e-mail forwarded to me with several interesting pictures. It was of car haulers from back in the day. Found one for P-15's and thought I would share.
  8. Here is a pic I have. Might help rule out your connections.
  9. Just looked at that Bob and that invoice is from Herrin, IL. A town just a few miles down the road from me. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I'd love to know where this car is now.
  10. I bought mine off of ebay. Search around there are plenty of alternator supply warehouses that carry it. Here a link to the photobucket pics of my 12 volt conversion. http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u122/siufan6/12%20volt%20conversion/
  11. I got mine from Roberts and it had directions on how to put it in. Also came with all the stuff I needed to install it.
  12. I did it to my car. One of the best mods I have done so far. I bought a universal alternator bracket that was about $35. Don made his own bracket. Either way works well. I modified my upper bracket to work on my alternator. Mine is hooked up so I have to hit 1200 rpm to get it to start charging. It works well and I have a volt gauge in the car so you can see when it starts charging. Any info you need just pm me. I think I started a thread with most of my info on that a few months back.
  13. I agree that I would go with a classic insurance and go with a stated value policy. Actually I work for a large insurance company and if we had to total a vehicle that was not listed in Nada. That would be any vehicle older than '89. We would have to do a market search to see what that car would sell for. That would be a written quote from a reputable dealer. Just my personal preference, but if you get hit in your classic vehicle and are insured with Grundy, Hagerty, or one of the others go through them for your damages. They know how to handle claims on these older vehicles and will be best for you to deal with in my opinion.
  14. Just a side note Fred. You don't have your doors off, but I tried to put it on with the doors off. That worked a lot better until I went to fit the doors onto the car. That made fitting it a bit tough. It was a little bit harder to get it on with the doors on the car, but it ended up being easier to get the doors installed and fitted.
  15. I used Roberts rubber on my doors Fred. Basically just glued the seals on the doors. Didn't use the metal backing as they didn't come with it. Just a roll of the seals. Seals off my doors just fine and was relatively cheap. Just make sure you use the black 3M weatherstrip adhesive. The yellow doesn't work as well.
  16. Welcome! Great looking car.
  17. A white truck that said "Progressive" on the side.
  18. You might have passed me. When are you heading back?
  19. Did you come up I-24 to I-64 Don? If so I was all over that area today. I've been traveling in rain for two days now. I always like working in the field until days like today.
  20. Thanks for the info Mark. I plan on ordering that for my P-15 over the winter. Wondered how well they worked in our cars. I don't drive much in the rain, but when I do it can be a chore.
  21. I'd vote for Frog follies or Hot Rod reunion. The frog's is relatively cheap to get in $15 pre-entry for all 3 days, food is cheap as well. $1 for a large soda, $1 for a hot dog, etc. It's also a neat show. Haven't been to the Hot Rod reunion, but have seen pics and it looks really neat as well.
  22. Looks great. It's always nice when you can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  23. That is what I was wondering. It seems like a different animal.
  24. Wish I had a place for it I would be interested. It never hurts to have extra parts around. Troy is about 1 1/2 hour drive for me.
  25. I have followed this thread with interest as I would actually like to attend one of their national events someday. I just would like to have myself and the car accepted. I attended a show earlier this year where I had several comments made about it due to it having a GM alternator on otherwise a basically stock car. I think I would just like to be accepted as I am. A fellow enthusiast who enjoys my old Plymouth. I don't want to feel out of place just because my car is not a stock vehicle. If I do feel that way at a show or event I usually try to avoid those types of events. I've been to street rod shows and other modified car events and have always been fully accepted and have met some great friends at those shows. As all cars are accepted. I think you guys have some good ideas and hope this changes someday for the benefit of the guys who just want to have fun driving and enjoying their cars.
