  1. I'm running 205 75 R15's. I had the large whitewall tires on the car when I bought it on the original wheels. I'm not sure what size they are as I put the wheels up in the attic a couple of years ago. Will have to get them down and see if I can mount the radials to the orig wheels. Thanks for the help.
  2. The clearance problems exist during hard turns on the left frt wheel. It rubs the inner part of the tire closest to the rim. Also having problems on the left rear tire rubbing the fender. Also I was wanting to change back to the original wheels if possible, because we had a slight accident with it last year and hit the curb. Did so damage to the left frt rim. Had vehicle aligned so that should not be the cause of my clearance problems. Also this was a problem before I hit the curb.
  3. It was 83degrees here in So. IL. I took my '47 out for a cruise this afternoon. Nice to be able to get it out this early in the year. I'm ready for the cruise nights to start.
  4. I know this has probably been discussed before, but I assume everyone is running their original wheels. I have 205 75 R15's on my '47 Sedan with aftermarket wheels. I'm having trouble with clearance problems with the wheels, but like the handling of the radials. I assume I can put my radials on my original wheels?
  5. Wondering if any of you have run across this problem. My '47 plymouth continues to have a high idle problem. I recently had the carb rebuilt and the vehicle starts up fine, once it runs for 15mins or so, or it is driven, it will start to idle very high. I've checked the throttle linkage and moved the spring around to tighten up everything. No problems there. Marked the idle screw and idle/air screw to make sure neither was turning to increase the idle. Nothing there either. Lastly I have checked for a vacuum leak. None noted. I have turned the idle screw back down after I drive it to decrease the idle. It will idle down, but after I drive it a little while farther it will run the rpms right back up. Is there anything in the carb that would cause this type of problem if not installed, seated, etc, correctly? I know there is a step up valve in the carb, if it is stuck or not seated right would that possibly cause this condition? Any help would be appreciated. I'm going crazy trying to figure this out.
  6. Great pics and nice cars! Just posted mine. Like the new site!
