  1. Well, what’s easier. Changing the doghouse or continually explaining a ‘54 on a ‘53. I’d probably make the switch. Really nice project, by the way.
  2. My neighbor passed his copies on to me for awhile. I’ve saved 2 or 3 issues. Not much value as that I can see.
  3. Good luck. I know it’s not the intellectual method but on these old units sometimes I just start replacing old parts till the problem goes away.
  4. “On the road again.......!” Good to see you guys out and about. My coupe has been pretty much a garage queen this summer. Have fun.
  5. Casper50, show us a picture when you get the bumpers back.
  6. Sweet looking car. More pics would be great when you get the time. Have fun!
  7. Beautiful car. Have fun.
  8. Great looking car. I’d be happy with that one. Good advice above. Just begin slowly and check everything out.
  9. Nice find. I’ve picked up a couple real cheap where you’d least expect it.
  10. Happy Holidays everyone!
  11. Really neat wagon! Just don’t need another project right now.
  12. Thanks! Just returned home after a snowy 5 hour drive from Portland to Bend over Mt. Hood. Waxing up the skis tomorrow. Bring it on!
  13. I’ll be watching with interest. I have noise In 1st and 2nd gear in my 36.
  14. That Hemi should pull it just fine!!!!?
  15. Enjoyed your posts again. Beautiful property. Your car looks right at home.
  16. I agree with getting it checked out by a good mechanic. It could be almost road ready or a complete nightmare. If you’re not really looking for a hot rod, the 5k should get you a good running unmolested stocker which I believe will be more reliable, less expensive and more fun in the long run.
  17. Good to know. I need some side glass for my coupe and planned on a winter project to install.
  18. Way cool. Suitable for framing in the man cave!
  19. There it is! Right between those two old cars.
  20. Good project, good advice from the gang. You asked about rubber early on. Might try Steele rubber company. Find them on line and they will send you a listing of all the rubber they carry for your car. I sure agree with trying to bring the six back to life. They’re tough engines. Get it running, then upgrade as you learn.
  21. What! 16K into the body??? Can’t see it. Are you sure it isn’t $1,600? At this this point, as Chrysler1942 said, it’s parts.
  22. After changing tire size I questioned the accuracy of my speedometer. My cell phone was great for dialing in the correction.
  23. I'm about a week late to the party but I'll jump in. Sell it as a complete car. Sold and gone. Parting it out would take all your time and many busted knuckles. Parts of it would be around for years. Good project for someone who can do the work themselves. I'd take a look if I were closer but, realistically, from the photos, not running, 4 doors, rusty floor, it's about a $500 car.
  24. Glad this thread is back on track. I was starting to get a headache.
