  1. So basically you mean any MoPar OD will fit any MoPar transmission?
  2. Both had same boot and clamp. Barware the square where made with different mounting angles.
  3. If you haven't pulled the horn wire before, expect a dirty oiled messy wire, don't let it touch the upholstery. Don't ask me how I know ? Dodgeb4ya, your description is the correct way. Do I see a Highlander?
  4. Very interesting subject. Don't know the answer. My spare part list and workshop manual has many pages regarding the M4 Vacamatic over drive unit fitting the C-28, C-30 and C-33. What model is yours? To my knowledge the M4,5,6 has same bolt pattern for the tail shaft so theoretically they should fit. I have downloaded this photo (probably from this site) showing M5 with overdrive stated as R7. But where do you find those OD ? Is it a R4? R5-10 ? Maybe others know more. I'm prepared to help you with documentation as I'm also interested in an OD.
  5. Mine has it too. As mentioned earlier it's a standard way suppressing high frequency, AM radio, still used today in transmitters and receivers. From what I understand, these where fitted to cars with factory radio. They where used in combination with other grounding suppressors.
  6. I would get them both. I don't know much about Dodge either, but Fluid Drive it's not a transmission. Do you shift gears manually ? If so then it's unlike the self shifting transmission of Chrysler and DeSoto.
  7. According to my catalog, it's not from a Chrysler. Any numbers or lettering stamped underneath?
  8. Yes it's difficult to find. My solution was to get one from Delco starters. They are held on by a clamp, as seen on Dodgeb4ya's photo. Maybe he can loosen one and show you.? https://bobsautomobilia.com/starters-and-parts/starter-solenoid-boot-1934-50-sb-340/
  9. Here is a page from the Chrysler manual regarding gear shifter adjustment.. Pages from Chrysler Shop Manual C28 C30 C33 C34 C36 C37 C38 C39 C40.pdf
  10. If you loosen this nut you can change arm position. No guarantee you'll get your second back.
  11. Adjusting what? Shifter arm position is on the nut visible in photo.
  12. There is a seller on ebay who sells a kit for carbs. It consists of brass bushings and correct reamer.
  13. Just want to add regarding the electric choke, or Sisson Choke as it's called, often has burnt insulating gasket. This will affect the opening timing.
  14. Here is a part of S-14 showing radio, defroster and clock. If you want the whole page. let me know.
  15. I can only add that my other non Mopar car uses AC flat copper gaskets. Flat coppers gaskets is also used around bolt/screw heads for oil sealing. Copper is soft and will seal when squeezed.
  16. Found the archive. Very detailed and interesting. Unfortunately These Dodge Truck build cards differ much from the civilian.
  17. Art Deco is gorgeous. When I restored my 41. found the FLOATING POWER engraved at front motor mount. Anyone else?
  18. Very interesting with the SO. I have my build sheet with some numbers and punched holes under Special order. Are you able to decode it?
  19. Sorry guys I must have explained it all wrong. I'll try again. In this country, registration tax for brand new cars are taxed 300% of factory purchase price. After 5 years they have to undergo a 2 year MOT and pay annually "road tax" (weight, options etc.) for the rest of it's life. Commercial vehicles are exempt from this tax ,but burdened with pollution and weight tax incl 2 year MOT If you import a car, reg. tax will be calculated according to year and minimum 190%. Now for historic cars, 35 years or older are viewed as "cultural heritage" and there are under a special law. Vehicles must be factory original and only driven between May and October. MOT is 8 years. For this we get lower registration tax, annually road tax and insurance etc. I was referring to Plymouthy Adams. According to him his car is personalized. If you try this here, they will slap you with the 190% tax. You loose you historic registration and considered a normal car. The shields have nothing to do with it, That's just my disorder.?
  20. Like Skrambler, my 41 has them too. Part list call them Engine Dust Pan. I think they had multiple purposes like Worden18 mentioned, deflecting road debris, (poor roads back then) and directing airflow to radiator. I for certain know my 39 Cadillac will get hotter without similar shields. I guess they dropped them when engine bays where lowered and roads where asphalted.
  21. Dodgeb4ya what can I say. Thank you very much. ?
