  1. I never had heat issues. Removed them during engine restoration and haven't installed them yet. As I understand shields help with cooling, directing air flow around engine instead of under car. Thank you, yes pulled engine for restoring and fresh paint.
  2. You are correct.I think I mixed them with shields under bumper. Engine Dust Pan Group 12-D Dan Epp Took mine off 2 years ago and haven't put them back on but little shield is bolted to the two shields.
  3. Can't help you as my flywheel shield is not pressed sheet but huge cast iron cover bolted to flywheel/fluid drive housing
  4. My 41 from Arizona had them. Part list call them splash guard. I think they aid engine cooling. There's is even another under crank pulley. You can see it connecting the two covers.
  5. What kind of alternator? GM or the small popular Denso 60A ? 1 wire or 3 wire ?
  6. I think I lost you there. I have this picture of under engine. Where do you mean?
  7. 6 bolts. No modifications made to engines. All match. But bolts are longer and flywheel is a bit different, has extra mounting tabs for the fluid coupler. (it's not a converter)? We only have 92, 95 and 98 unleaded so I choose the lowest 92.
  8. Yes we drive on right side. It was imported from Arizona. No cars where imported during WW II ? Nope you bell housing is normal clutch type. Mine is deeper due to clutch and fluid coupler.
  9. Thanks for info. Difficult with slang words of another language. MoPar called them door mount outside rear view mirror.
  10. Our 3W Coupe, 6846 pcs According to Standard Catalog Of Chrysler Royal 2-dr. Cpe.-3P 6846 2-dr. Clb. Cpe.-6P 10,830 2-dr. Lux. Brgm.-6P 8006 4-dr. Sed.-6P 51,378 4-dr. Twn. Sed.-6P 1277 Mine has a normal left hand steering and according to build sheet, originally didn't have radio or clock, but locking gas cap. Someone later added these.
  11. If you choose fluid drive, the later post-war M5 transmissions will bolt directly and no modification to axle. Later they shared oil with engine, Not sure when. I think they called them M6.
  12. Yeah I was referring to the useless cosmetic cowl trim swan neck mirrors. True his model is without. So it seems all type of mirrors are called peep? Thought only the upper curved clamped are peep mirrors.
  13. Thanks. Mine has original Vacamatic and Fluid drive. Works great. Tan/Beige interior
  14. Can't help with you question but want to point out, Chrysler and DeSoto never made a business coupe. They where called Royal, Windsor, Saratoga or New Yorker Coupe ? Your car is looks great. I have the same model and colour.
  15. LoL Original right side swan neck are even more useless ?
  16. Are all Plymouth starters Bendix system with one wire system with external solenoid ?
  17. I read somewhere if you use single grade engine oil, and the original float pick-up tube, you don't really need a filter.
  18. ? None of the above. Key switch having three terminals can be installed 9 different ways. So AM and ACC or ACC and ST could be also be swapped. Logically, there is absolutely no reason for an engine to crank without ignition. One turn powers ignition, and everything else, the other way accessory mode, Map light, radio, etc.
  19. I'm really impressed. Never knew Chrysler started using ballast resistors and coils in 1956. Or is it newer aftermarket? Merle Coggins is correct. Measuring resistor voltage drop should be done with closed points so current can flow to ground. If you have 12 volts on both sides of resistor, then look elsewhere for fault. Ballast resistors Ohm value is so low most instruments can't measure them.
  20. Correct, it should not. Sounds like your AM and ST connections on key switch are reversed.
  21. Yes return, basically it's a bypass for circulating heater water for defroster, Pre war engine didn't have built in bypass on head and pump.
  22. Ok I think i found it in this heater package. What do you think? Part lists over 10 different heater packages
  23. It rather interesting for I have always wondered about the round raised area. Could it be and even earlier option ? Where they too lazy to change castings? e mold ?
  24. True but threads inside bolt head are few. Cable and washer etc, not much left. Headbolts thread in engine is also filled with sealant and crud. Electrically not a good lead. Not saying it wouldn't work but I wouldn't. Prefer use the original grounding bolt.
