  1. A friend put a 6 blade on his 37 Ply. and told me he never even drove the car with that fan because just reveing the motor in the garage he could not stand the noise it made. DJ
  2. Add that to your bucket list! DJ
  3. From I have read for years-you cannot go wrong with a shifter from Lokar. More $ than the other-But? They make some trans mounted and also cable operated to be able to put it exactly where you want it. I Did not look for 727 specific shifters both they are quite common for years. My 2 cent.. DJ
  4. Stant produces gas caps that will fit your car that are made as vented and Non vented models by the company. Bought mine from Napa and made sure that the counter salesperson looked in the product book not just of the computer (that did NOT state such info) to make sure the cap was vented! DJ
  5. Wrong forum post.
  6. Do not know their parts sources-Chinese etc. but I can tell you that their prices are high, and have seen no assurance as to where the parts are from, most likely the same places the others are getting theirs and selling at lower prices. Heck even these days a good source manufacturer called Rare Parts in Stockton Ca. will not guarantee without asking if the are sourced from china or oversees or they actually made them and they are also Not cheap! A call will tell the source if asked, from personal experience. Most everyone will suggest looking/online for NOS or at least real NORS. DJ
  7. Still not going to work with remote M/C reservoir because you need to get the air out out the cylinder/s which cannot happen if the inlets are on the side not straight up to allow the air out. DJ
  8. Is that guy in his trunk getting a calf out for sale? DJ
  9. Remove that vent and put a pipe tread flush type plug in it. Make sure that you are running a vented cap. That is where the stock type gas tank was vented. The mfg.er must most likely can only build a tank that is properly smog legal. What you do is not the anyone's business. All should be good to go. DJ
  10. Appears to have already lasted a long time is still in very good condition! DJ
  11. One of my mentors -owner of a equipment rental co.- told me to put a heavy grease (like and old style bearing grease) on the tap when used in sensitive areas whether a newly tapped hole or cleaning one out and then Very regularly backing the tap out- cleaning if off-and reapply thick grease, repeat until done. DJ
  12. My first question to you is- have you checked with a straight edge to make sure all the surfaces that mount to the block are Very even across the faces? If not you have two choices- separate the intake and exhaust manifolds (broken bolts most likely) and try to see if then the parts can be aligned with the new bolts installed but still loose OR take them still bolted together and have them surfaced flat by a machine shop Before any install. Hope the new set is level and life is good! DJ
  13. Marty I took a brake check ride with your cars new owner around my neighborhood several days ago and I will testify that your brake update to front disc and dual bowled master cylinder will throw you into the windshield if not prepared! My 50 4 dr. will all stock brakes, everything new and adjusted with proper tools and very minor readjustments will Not stop as fast!! My 50 will lock them up and still not stop as fast as your car did without locking them up! I am permanently sold on the front discs/dual master change! I would love to do the same ride/brake test in a 4 wheel disc changeover in a similar car for comparison. That car runs strong! DJ
  14. well, sorry for all of us here but my bad back and hip have been giving me hell so I bowed out and then my overworked friend (the tax preparer-accountant) said he was not going if I did not or least if he could not meet up with Marty Bose who it seems is having sellers remorse (I guess it is like buyers remorse) so he decided he was not up for the BBQ-- so we all missed out of what I am sure is a great gathering. My friend has however already started looking at this forum and is totally loving the car so I expect a new forum member will soon be on board! Planning for next years BBQ if things get better! Hope you'all have a beyond great get-together!! DJ
  15. Tim, I hope all is OK to bring the New owner (not me) of Marty Bose's 47 Bus. Cpe. just sold to my friend -to the BBQ to meet the Mopar truck crew? Just a couple of hours to spend though as he does tax work and is very busy! Marty has been fantastic as the (selling) owner as there was a carb. dripping fuel after the drive home (about a hour freeway drive home). He drove that hour to my house this morning and did carb. work to fix the problem!!!! Thanks Marty!!! Too nice! Marty was also invited by my friend to come to the BBQ also. Marty will be there if family commitments allow at last contact we had today, Hope to see him there, one hella of a person! DJ
  16. Too bad we do not have Crown Lager in the US. If I remember the name correctly that was some smooth but strong brew! Loved it during the 6 Mo. I spent in Brisbane area. DJ
  17. Fire and smoke rating just in case? DJ
  18. Bearing race removal tool? DJ
  19. I'm just a rust inspector-- Man that's Bad! Lunch? Caustic dip for about two days and a steam clean- possibly repeat- or call the rust Doctor?
  20. I was talking not just the zerks themselves, but where they are screwed in the suspension pieces. Guess I was not very clear! Try the drill method with the zerks removed and set aside and do the other. Only once or twice I had to put a small amount of heat to the part that did not still take grease after cleaning out the zerk mounting hole, clean again with drill and wire and reinstall zerk and try again while still somewhat warm. Good luck, DJ
  21. I have great luck with plugged up grease fittings by removing the zerk and taking a small drill bit-say 1/8" dia.( somewhat smaller than the opening, but close) and by Hand turning in the bit in the grease hole where the grease zerk was until it ran into solid steel. Replace the zerk with a new one and try greasing again- preferable with the suspension lifted with no weight on it! Always managed it get them all opened and taking grease again- a few took several tries. Another thought ,best of luck- DJ
  22. From the overall look of this it appears to just be a cage- the shake down-cage! the policeman is seeing if the passenger has enough in his wallet in the possession of the cop to get out! DJ
  23. The running lights?? DJ
  24. Just a prototype for the vehicle shows. Still a few details to have the engineers work out! DJ
  25. http://www.allpar.com/mopar/poly.html A good explanation! DJ
