  1. I am looking to put in a small block 318 most likely... auto trans or 5 speed.. most likely the auto trans. no hot rodding, just want to be able to drop it easily.. I see dropped spindle kits, and disc brake kits.. I guess by the time you mess with cutting apart a frame, welding, fabbing every mount, and hoping it all holds... you have about the same into bolt on mods...
  2. HI All, Have not been on this site for a while now!! Well.. I just picked up another Mopar, and wanted to see what you guys are doing for suspension upgrades these days, and whats the best bang for the buck? did a little research and seen dodge Dakota clips being used, fatmans, rusty hope, andy bernbaums, etc etc... looking to put in a 318, 360, into it, being able to bag the front, and bag rear. found a guy selling a 1987 dodge Dakota for 300 bucks... with that, I was thinking of using that front clip and the rear end. so what do you guys suppose? this "project" needs a lot of help as it sits...
  3. that's a good deal !! I love the old Plymouth wagons... they are super cool. I had a 56 "suburban" or wagon that I NEVER should of gotten rid of.. but I was trying to buy a house and needed a few more thousand bucks and needed to part with that and a 4 door 1956 savoy I had. I believe I talked with you before over the phone.. I am looking for a wagon if you know of one selling. have fun!
  4. this is a funny thread, as I now exactly where this car came from. I believe a guy in clovis California had this car. I went and seen this car a year or two ago, and the guy told me a story about the car being in a shootout?.... LOL. maybe he told you the same story. he had a REALLY nice hemi motor that he was going to throw in the car. I could be wrong... but this car looks really familiar.
  5. it was REALLY rough.... still thinking about it. he has 2 in different stages. Just don't know if I want to jump into that type of restoration right now.
  6. I think I might toss the lowering as of now. I got a really good deal on this car, but it is missing the rear end (complete). I found a donor 4 door that has springs... will these work for a 2 door car? I would imagine that all the springs are the same right?
  7. hi all, this has probably been brought up a million times... but do they make a lowering leaf spring for this car? like a posies, or something someone makes that can lower my rear end without doing any hokie stuff? I am looking to put in a nice updated drive train in this car, and want it to be lower than stock, but don't want to start taking out springs in the pack, and blocks. let me know. thanks!
  8. I am hoping to go check it out tomorrow. If it checks out, i think im going to pick it up. I will take plenty of pictures and post em for your guys opinion. It really caught my eye as that trunk lid area is enourmous!!! I am afraid if this car is "rare", i will have a hard time finding misc. Items for it. We will see... not a whole lot of information on this car on the ol web... sit tight for what happens, and some pics!!!
  9. Hi Guys, I have a chance at a 2 door business coupe in my area. really cool looking car. from what I describe, it is a 3 window (actually 4) including the windshield.. LOL. complete car, including motor and transmission. any body know about these cars? are they rare? I hate to say that word, but I DEFINATELY have not seen one around in my area, or at any shows. I am going to go look at it tomorrow. I don't want to even say what he wants for it... just might add it to my Mopar collection.
  10. I found a 1946 Chrysler in a local Junkyard. so the outer windshield moulding for this car will work with my Desoto? I found the bumpers, now all I need is the front and back glass.
  11. ok. I just sent him an email. ill see what he says!!
  12. thanks guys for the compliments. now I am having one heck of a time trying to find the front windshield glass, the outer windshield trim, the inner windshield trim. I need the back glass, but no the outer or inner trim. can a 46-48 Chrysler work? I also need the wrap around drivers side moulding for the front fender. I am almost positive that wont interchange... let me know what works, and what doesn't.
  13. It actually runs great! I dont know what direction i want to go with it. I am going to "tinker"... thats for sure!!
  14. Hi All, Just did a trade for a 1947 Desoto 2 door. I know NOTHING about these cars. Just doing some research, and finding that these 2 doors are somewhat rare... the car is missing some stuff, and looking to find someone parting one out. traded the car for a pair of jetskis I had... so I guess I got the better deal if this car is rare. let me know what you think!!
  15. That's all I am looking to do... Cruise!!
