  1. Yes on the restoration, but you must see it to really see the craftsmanship.
  2. What do you have patents on? Advise, grumpiness, collections of Chevy car magazines?
  3. Hi-rail trucks (hiway /rail) . Possibly made special for executives.
  4. Add fuel, secure steering wheel and bucket seat, fan belt and it should start, then back out of the garage and motor around the block.
  5. You will not be bored if you travel Denver to SCramento up long canyon accessed only by foot and train. The views across Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska change every 100 miles as the route climbs from near sea level in Chicago to 5200 in Denver. In Nebraska the route is down the center of the Platte river a very scenic ride.
  6. PA, take your pick, a slightly damaged vehicle or no vehicle.
  7. Anti theft idea, remove all the lug nuts on one wheel. Just a thought, sorry!
  8. Don't remember Dec,7' 41, I was only two. But I remember rationing of sugar, flour, gasoline, and rubber, and the endless groups of airplanes headed for LA. There flew in groups of 40, as I recall and when one group came it was always followed by another 8 or 10. We especially liked the P38's. They had a distinct sound. Dad was a farmer and most farmers were exempt as I recall. After the war, surplus food was given to schools and the school lunch program started. Life was very basic back then.
  9. I fully enjoy watching how your family use an old car to enjoy the casual pleasures of life. Merry Christmas to each and all.
  10. For us, 58 years! Best decision she ever made! LOL
  11. To me, raised on a farm.with no electricity, and the like, the song always reminds me of my thoughts when Dad called us out in the morning to milk cows!
  12. Casper50, if you can't find that bushing, you might try wrapping the shaft with bacon to get by!
  13. Keith, a very sobering documentary. I was born in 38 so don't recall the Time, the Midwest also had the dust bowl, i do remember digging out every fence line on the ranch as late as the 50's. A very, very different world.
  14. Greg, no argument here, however the song was written during a different culture, when innuendo was fun, not fact. They gonna ban the musical, "Oklahoma" also? "She went about as far as she could go!" ? ???
  15. If mine, I would lay out few bridgeplanks and drive it out. Or get a large bulldozer and start moving dirt, which is what is going to happen any way. The off ramp appears to be a fill ramp.
  16. MB, this is not a T5. And yes, to attach to the clutch housing requires a special plate between the housing and the T 85 C overdrive. Similar to the plate between the Cherokee MC and the frame on a B3B. My rear axle, a 98 Cherokee has its own EBrake. I've been working on this with a good machinist friend.
  17. And even panocheo is under investigation. First "Little Black Sambo", then "Huck Finn", then " Puff the Magic Dragon". What next, Gingerbread Boy?"
  18. Here is a change of pace. Love the patio oner the hood. Good place to hunt armadillos from.
  19. Yes, I have one to compare to this. At $75 I figure I can get that $$ back quite easily. Will report back. Per HAMB this is a very strong transmission and quite popular.
  20. I have a T 85 C with overdrive, used extensible, this one in a Ford. I will see how it matches my B3B.
  21. Update: I just bought a T 85 C borgwarner overdrive for $75. I will put it in my truck. From the net: Re: BW OD transmission. A T-85 C is a car trans. The R-11 unit there is a truck unit. The gears in the T-85C are higher and are best used with a 4:11 rear end. (The T-85 C with my 3:73 would put third up higher than now and 2nd as well. For the use it will get, that will be nice).
  22. Since it is broken, toss it. It presses the clutch plate AWAY from the fly wheel, broken the plate will not be pressed evenly. IMHO
  23. You will have to study the cross member. I don't know. I believe the MC must be perfectly square to the push ROD so that it pushes straight. The spacer mount assures that.
  24. It's been sometime since I put mine in. If you drill holes in the crossmember you will have to tap them for the MC stub bolts. I wonder if that crossmember would be thick enough to hold?
