  1. I've attended 10 of the 12, it's a never miss event for me. 2019 I'm adding Yosemite Valley to the weekend end. The BBQ once was a good event, then Steph joined and it now is a great event!

'. . . birthday cake. . . "? Really, you are aging? Only two indisputable things in existence, ___________ and taxes!
  3. That is artistry! Very nice. Makes me want to quit posting. Of the three, "The good, the bad, and the ugly, you the good!
  4. The monistary already requires such. Great Vino, good bread, ample pasta, and a chorus of singing nuns. H,m,m,m
  5. "I'm going to pull it all out, get new metal." I noticed that also, pictures are very honest, I could do as you suggest, but welding all new, all the same, all sheared and broke by machine, just suddenly appealed to me. Im aware that I'm prone to skimp and save, but not here. This is foundational stuff. However TKS for the kind observations.
  6. My small soft plastic "umbrella sound control" kept staying in my ear canal. I found that the use of a small wad of cotton ball behind the mic to hold it in, improved my hearing by 100%, in volume and in clarity. Sounds are now real and clear. Will have a talk with my fitter next week. I certainly hope other HOH members are coping. Sometimes I feel like joining a monistary, I now qualify in TWO ways! LOL
  7. After working with the inconsistent thicknesses and questionable quality of the old, yet seemingly solid material, I'm going to pull it all out, get new metal, get some help on very tricky areas and put in a new floor. At this point I have very little money invested, mainly learning time.
  8. 1942 Dodge I saw yesterday. Unfortunately a clip was put in the front. I don't think the bed is original, though the tail gate is.
  9. I drive Phoenix very often, probably 5 times a week. Most drives are 10 mile round trips. I've started to always drive it at 2,000 rpm and now it easily goes there without pushing it. Today spotted a 1942 Dodge pickup in a drive way. So stopped and visited. Body was rust free, dent free, but under the hood was a GM V8. Will get a photo today. Found the photo below, so seems my truck should pull a boat also.
  10. Tonight I Red an article on Americas' abundance of LP fuel. This transport ship photo was with the article. Amazing !
  11. So sorry to hear. He and cooper will be missed.,
  12. It is slow and tedious, but I'm learning. Brake pedal out of adjustment.
  13. Tim, how about the woodpeckers?
  14. Very detailed build. Seems the trailer should have the same rims as the woody.
  15. Is that a casket on the trailer? Did someone say, you can't take it with you?
  16. Unless money is an issue, I would never sell that car. If you need some place to store it and to drive it occasionally to keep things lubricated, I want to put my name on the list. I will keep it for a time, then someone else can, etc, etc. make it a revolving piece of automobile history.
  17. Hot rod, be sure and get two, and enjoy two part harmony! LOL
  18. Current Fresno Ca Craigslist. All are 4 door sedans and appear to be similar to yours 1941 Roadmaster. 16900 1940 Olds. 11500 1941 Chevrolet. 14500 1939 Pontiac 12500 1940 Buick. 16000
  19. Which makes the most noise, a six bladed radiator fan or a poorly filtered carter single throat carburetor?
  20. pfdhb-6718825894@sale.craigslist.org this is listed in Vermont.
  21. Several years ago I was waiting at a rural intersection watching a long string of custom cars "parade" slowly by. A driver ran the stop light and collided with a very nice hot rod. He saw the car coming and swerved, yet the collided. Result: some dents and scratches on the hot rod and a pile OD plastic, and severe damage to the front bumper and fender. Later, He drove off,she did not!
  22. Dodgeed: you called that spot on. Some one younger may wonder why it's taking me so long. Well, with STML every morning I walk into the shop I ask, "What is that?, then I look at yesterday's list to see what I checked off!
  23. It needs no saying that I put a truck back on the road TWICE! In defense of your comment, I'm will need to do a full body cleanining, protecting, then quality paint. Our daughter likes forest green. Even though the truck has not been rained on, is garaged 99% of the time, rust is beginning to emerge. It will require a full disassembly of the doghouse, and bed. I don't know what will be required on the inside of the doors. Well that's future.
  24. Update: I'm working on the little things required to test drive the car. The shifter lever and handle is with my machinist. It will be one piece milled aluminum, lever and handle all the way to the bottom pivot pin. The R/1 selector trigger pivot end in a milled out center space. I've eliminated the mini console, replaced by a tunnel side mounted leather boot, the floor is held in with metal screws waiting for a friend to weld it in, etc., etc., little things eat up TIME! Will have photos mid week. I had no idea how much more work is involved repairing a car vs a truck. My Dodgers don't seem to be able to handle the Red Sox. Bummer!
  25. Hey, deep fried east coast oysters and shrimp are timeless.
