  1. I had to do my music gig last night......so we set out a container of assorted candy with a sign saying "Take One.....Please leave some for others". When we returned home, there was only one piece left. Of course, we don't know how it really went, but hopefully it went to several kids.
  2. I can't think of the company name at the moment, but you probably can look them up by searching google for those lights. They might choose to sell you the missing parts. Don't know that for sure, but would be worth a shot. There are usually a few sets offered for sale on Ebay. When I first saw those lights and the nice new shiny bezels, I thought that would be a real winner.....just add my lense......but, wrong. As was said, they won't work together.
  3. There's an older guy here in Joplin who drives a black and white Metropolitan everywhere all the time. And then he takes it to the cruise in as well. Fun to look at.
  4. There is a guy I know here locally who transports cars in an enclosed trailer pulled by his pickup. I think he does good work as he carries some high dollar vehicles on occasion. I don't know if he makes a special run like to your location empty or if he waits for something going to your area and then combines. Another young man in our area, Ben D over on the HAMB, receives very high marks from customers. I think he uses an open trailer. Plus, there are others. The big boys like Passport Transport and others are accustomed to toting valuable vehicles all over the country.
  5. Hey......here's an idea: just put a real short surf board on the roof of the Metro and you'll be good to go. Or, drop it down a few inches...... Or, just go totally wild and put a big ol motor in it.
  6. I know about the power being out. About 3 or 4 years ago, we had a big ice storm in January and another one just as bad in December. Our electricity was off for around a week both times. Fortunately, we had a place to stay each time. So, tomorrow the electrician is supposed to install a whole house generator (Generac). Probably wouldn't be much help in another tornado....but if we get snow or ice, probably will be a deal. Runs on natural gas--comes on automatically if needed. I had a portable generator for about 2 years, but never had occasion to use it. Then it got damaged in the storm (what didn't?). The electric lines in our part of the subdivision are underground, but the problem is someone else's tree back down the way falls on the lines that are on the poles. Hope everybody gets back to normal quickly as possible. Looks like a long tough road in some areas......especially for all those folks whose houses burned.
  7. Have you ever watched "Shipping Wars" on tv? I think some of those U Ship people are kinda like that.....if they find an additional load item along the way, they probably take it on to make their trip more profitable.
  8. I think he was also wanting detailed pics of the bulkhead between the seat and the trunk area......anyone have some? I don't......just being a busybody.
  9. I bought them on eBay several years ago. Were used.....price was reasonable....not the very best condition, but useable. No idea what brand they were to begin with. If you want decent skirts, I think Agape Auto in Indiana has metal ones. Some say the fiberglass ones aren't so hot.....I guess others find them OK. I bought some fiberglass ones from a forum member a couple years ago, but they are still in the box. Going to give them to the son in law for his P15 coupe. The latches on my skirts didn't seem completely trustworthy, so I have a small sheet metal screw in the front and rear edge of the skirt, painted to match the car. Not supposed to need them, but no big deal to me. Since many skirts look a lot alike, I measured mine so as to know what size to look for in the future. They are 33 3/4 long and 11 inches tall.
  10. From the Parts Manual.........
  11. On the inside of the fenders, up a little above where the "new" tail lights are......can you see any hints of where there used to be 4 holes for mounting studs and a hole with "tabs" on two sides (where the bulb goes thru and the socket clips in)?? Maybe this picture will help some. Another view.......... Perhaps someone with a P15 close at hand could measure distance to the opening from the bottom edge of the fender.
  12. I think this car, owned by a fellow from the area, has a slant 6 in it. But I don't think I've ever taken a picture of it.....or even looked at it very closely.
  13. It would look as if someone with a little patience and a piece of metal could fab up that Miller tool at home.
  14. To Tim, Don and the guys......thanks for thinking of me. That was a nice surprise. Now I'll have a real conversation piece for the convert when it returns. Just one more example of why this is the best forum on the planet. Bob
  15. Hi Chance. 24 x 32. Seems big at first, but getting smaller already with the "valuable junque" creeping in. It replaces 3 storage buildings we had plus all things that were in our attached garage also will go there. The new att garage is about 6 feet narrower than the old..... Having some shelves built in the attached garage, but it just isn't as large as the original one. Fortunately there was enough insurance money to be able to have it built.
  16. Today I FINALLY brought home the last load of "stuff" in the mini storage.... all of which goes into the newly completed detacged garage. Feels good not to have to drive the 12 miles one way to get to the storage place. The owner was helpful earlier on in getting me into a couple of his larger units so I could combine things strung around in other small units....in two additional towns. The ol 05 Dodge Grand Caravan hauled everything fine.....just took a number of trips. Had the contractor build me a work bench (on the right) - not that I do all that much work, but is a handy place to tinker. I can store tool boxes and such on the shelves below. You can see that the new metal frame shelves (from Sams Club) are pretty full already. Will have to go thru each container to see just what's in there as stuff simply got tossed into boxes, etc after the storm. And there is still more in the attached garage. When I get everything organized, I can even bring out the laptop to read the forum (wireless router) and stay toasty warm thanks to that heater hanging up there. One of these days the Plymouth will return and get to reside here. It's been windy a lot here in Joplin the past several months. I had a storm door installed.....guess I didn't get it latched good one evening.... the wind whipped it open, kind of bent it around the corner of the building, and warped it enough I had to have it replaced.
  17. Now that is a handsome group of Mopar fans right there folks. I would presume it was a fun day. Sending a PM Tim.
  18. Definitely a good price there. Hard to tell sometimes where the best deal will be.
  19. Don't look like anything I recall seeing on my P15 either.
  20. Actually looks pretty good for the price. Appears pretty straight. Getting a good engine is probably the easiest part. I had a 52 Dodge like that back in college days....bought it for $20 and it ran. Had that same transmission the seller describes. Pretty slow takeoff in high, though. car in the ad....
  21. I hope no one does, but if so, are you prepared? Will the old car as well as the family be safe? Just checking.
  22. They were selling them for $39.95 a pair, which icluded "free shipping". I saw some elsewhere on the net for closer to $15 each, but then you would pay shipping.....so not such a bad deal to me. They are a 7 inch bulb made by Wagner, model H6006.....should likely be available thru a local parts store. The "H" evidently stands for halogen and I think they also make a plain 6006 as a regular bulb.
  23. Pretty darn cule.
  24. Looks like this fellow must have a router......or he sure likes to whittle. A neat display under the rear floor panel of this 57 Chevy sedan delivery seen at last weekend's car show. Might have some possibilities for us old Mopar folks as a trunk item.
