  1. Just received in the mail a pair of Wagner halogen 6 volt headlights. Bought on eBay from Jackson's Old Automotive Parts Company, 6220 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN. Phone (218) 624-5791. They say they sell "mechanical wearing parts".....no body parts. Toll free phone is 1-888-399-7278. email is: sales@Oldtimeparts.com The flyer included with my order says chassis and suspension parts, brake parts, drivetrain parts and engine parts. I don't know if anyone is familiar with them but seems like maybe another place to look for things we need. Just passing this on as hopefully helpful info.
  2. That's nice, Moose. Congrats. Looks like an interesting mag..azine.
  3. Looks like a useable front seat, or at least the frame. Maybe a good back seat also....can't really tell. Good rear window perhaps. Have seen worse looking rocker trim than that one.
  4. They always hold the Maple Leaf Festival in Carthage, MO on the third weekend of October. Their car show is the largest in our part of the state, usually drawing 400 to 600 vehicles. It was a nice day, but I think the number of entries was down a bit this year.....probably in the 400 range. Dale and I went to check out the swap meet area (which is fairly small) and look at cars. He ended up buying a set of new Moon racing disc type wheel covers for one of his cars. I didn't find anything for the ol Plymouth. One vendor had some pictures for sale......a couple included old Plymouths in the subject matter. The first one has a shadow on it, but you can see the featured car...... The second one has a 51 or 52 Plymouth......... This year, there were both one P15 (not mine) and one D24 in attendance.....usually there are neither at area shows. Talked to the owner of the P15, who said he also has a 1952 Chrysler Imperial he is working on, found in the basement garage of a house in a small town south of here. His P15 needs a bit of work, and does have a V8 in it, but I gave him info on this forum. The location of the show has many large shade trees, but they make lots of shadows and bright spots for taking pictures. [/img] Didn't see the owner of the D24, which also has a V8, but otherwise is pretty stock in appearance. He did have some fancy wheel covers and Briz bumpers. There were several nice older Mopars of the late 30s and early 40s this year. 5. Yeah.....I don't think the bass would fit inside the car in case of rain. Guess that's why I play an electric bass guitar.....smaller and easier to deal with. Back in the 1930s, my Dad, in his college days, played standup bass in some dance bands. They would tie it to the roof of one of those old square 30s style vehicles. Being the enterprising sort that he was, he actually built his own wooden case for that bass....out of some fairly thin plywood stuff as I recall. Ah yes.....music stuff is fun. The car sounds great.
  6. I would suppose the age old question applies here.....have you bought a service/repair manual for your car?? It should have a wiring diagram showing just where each wire goes. It would, of course, address the four lugs on the starter as well. I have a Plymouth, so not going to be any help there. Good luck on your project. P.S. You can find those books usually on ebay. A reprint sometimes is cheaper than an old original and just as good nowadays.
  7. This 52 Plymouth wagon is listed for sale right here in our own classifieds. Located in N J. Link to the ad...... http://oldmopar.com/SubSale/52Sale.html
  8. Best art item I created was to use a nice P15 sedan brake light bezel for a picture frame. Ultimately sold it to Mr. Coatney.....but took the picture of my car out first. Strangely, he put it on the trunk lid of his car. Go figure.
  9. ..........or......what to do with that old front clip you have hanging around. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1946-1947-1948-PLYMOUTH-FRONT-CLIP-ART-DECORATION-WALL-HANGER-BAR-HOT-ROD-P15-/221133864248?hash=item337c9afd38&item=221133864248&pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr
  10. Ahhh.........the car looks good in front of that old building. Kinda fun to drive for a wedding. We've done it in the convertible 3 different times.
  11. Looks real good, Ed. The wheels, tires and caps dressed it up in a hurry.
  12. car sources: ebay, craigslist, hemmings motor news, auto trader magazines at your supermarket (many have old as well as newer cars)......cars for sale section of this forum, cars for sale section of the hamb. just put in in your browser "1947 plymouth for sale" (or whatever you want to look for) and some will probably appear.
  13. Congrats on the trophy. Helps make all the stuff we do to these old cars worthwhile. Thanks for the pictures.
  14. You might check with this company in Springfield, MO who (as far as I know) rebuilds both standard and power steering boxes. 15. About as close as you'll probably get these days is buy some roll type floor mat rubber from a home improvement place like Lowes or from a restaurant supply........or some similar type place....and make your own. I just went ahead and used carpet in mine.....to match that in the car.
  16. I think that type car is what James Douglas, who appears here on the forum occasionally, has. He's in California. This is a picture of his car, borrowed from his profile.....
  17. On the chets coins page......i believe the password is "password"
  18. Nice P15 coupe. Welcome.
  19. A couple other things of some use are a Motors and a Chilton manual for the year mentioned. They include info on all cars of their era. I mainly use the orange Parts book at the top and the Service book on the right.
  20. On regular cars, the insurors call it a total if damages reach a certain percent of the value of the car. Maybe that's what Hagerty is trying to say. Don't know how their policy reads. But - at the same time - they do insure them for a stated or agreed value. Hopefully the situation has been resolved. I was actually concerned about that sort of thing when the adjuster from State Farm was assessing the damage on the convert, from the tornado. But the estimate did not reach a level to create a question.... fortunately.
  21. Along with a repair manual, I would recommend owning a Parts Manual. They contain info not found in the other book. Have part numbers, exploded views of many items and other useful info.
  22. Hi Bob. Glad to hear things are looking up. Best wishes. Bob
  23. Does seem a bit high. If interested, you can always make a lower offer. It's one of those I describe as pretty much all there.....but needs everything re-done.
  24. Maybe Sofseal........... If A Bernbaum has one, many people have had problems with the fit.
  25. The horn wire runs down thru the steering column and comes out a hole in the steering gear box.....then on to the horn relay up front.
